Ok, I got it off the back window using a hairdryer. Would it be safe to do the same to the lettering on the back tailgate paint?

Yes same idea, the newer the sticker the easier it will be.

A sticker? Pour hot water over it, yes, use your hair dryer, blow and pull away like YouTube vinyl wrap removal, and GooGone the residue off. Hose off, then apply polish to blend any clearcoat differences.

A heat gun and that wheel are great for debadging, I wouldn’t buy them just for a dealer sticker.

Thanks again for the advice everyone. I got the lettering off using the hairdryer and my fingernail. The residue came off with a little paint thinner.

Paint thinner? Oh man. Next time you're debadging something just spray a little of this on the sticky stuff, wipe off anything that drips or gets elsewhere, let it sit for a minute, rub on it with a microfiber cloth. Repeat until done. It'll be off in a few minutes.
