Hey quick Q. Do i need bump stop spacers for the double shims up front? Im going to put 4 shims up front (two on either side) and wasn't sure if i needed anything for the front besides some loctite.

Our Front bumper shim kit slides the bumper forward just a touch (.50") allowing extra tire clearance. needing to install will depend on tire/wheel combo along with offset. You can always install everything and then check clearance, if you need a set let me know. We have plenty built and ready to go. Blue Loctite is great for the studs above the coilover top plates.

So just picked up my truck from the dealership cause they said I had a bent leaf spring. So I am interested in Buying Deaver U748 springs. My question is will those springs work with the coachbuilder +3 shackles I just installed? Or do I need to do anything else besides just swap out springs?

David let me know the squeaking coming from my tie rods was due to poor lubrication. If you bought the coachbuilder steering kit more than 1-2 years ago, you most likely do not have boots on your tie rods. David sells a set of boots that go over the heim joints so you can keep grease on them. I installed mine today and I finally have a quiet front end. IMG_3388.jpg

So I want to do the Coachbuilder upgrade to my 2017 TRD Pro. I know the recommended tire size is a 295. I’ve already purchased 275 70 18 ko2s. If I keep the 275s on there will it look odd if I get spacers to give me a wider stance without having to buy wider tires or should I just leave it as is and just put a wider tire on it after I wear the 275s out? Which could take a while because I’m a low mileage driver. If I go with a spacer, what size 1.5 2 inch etc? I would go with a Bora. Thanks for the input.

If you get the steering kit you will need the spacers. The Coachbuilder tie rods will grind on inside of a stock rim. I ran this with no spacers for awhile, but I knew to avoid a hard turn. I now run 1.25” spidertrax spacers. That’s all you need to avoid rub. With your tire size you may be able to get away with adjusting the front liner. If your worried about looking awkward I think 2” would be too much.

I have 275/70 with spidertrax and I love how it looks. Could I have gone bigger sure, but overall very happy. I have attached a pic for reference. I also have the CB pro shim kit up front.

You're def able to use our +3"s with any of the Deaver's as well as our poly bushing kit. With them being longer we've had a few guys with aftermarket tow hitches get very close to the hitch. Are you using anything aftermarket other than the leafs?

I ended up going with the stock shackles since I didn’t want it any higher after the custom leafs. They added 2 inches of height alone. My truck sits level with just the king shocks all the way around. My truck doesn’t seem to have much of a lean so I didn’t need the shims. I sold the shims, shackles and poly bushings. I kept and installed the CB steering kit.

FINALLY installed my +3 shackles, 2 shims up front, bump extensions, carrier bearing spacers. Adding a camper shell so went with +3 on the shackles.

It’s a tight squeeze getting the 35” spare back up there, but it works if you’ve removed your spare tire guides, make sure the shackles bolts are facing outward, and shove forward as far as you can while raising the tire.

    Looks great, drives great. Happy.

Yes I know this pic is inconsistent lighting and two different sides, but you can kind of get the picture. Top is before, bottom is after.

What tires are you running? Are you using any spacers? I am still on stock Pro rims too.

Running 35x12.50 KO2s with 1.25” spidertrax spacers. I wanted to keep the stock Pro rims and the spacers helped clear the UCA. I’ve had the wheel/tire/spacer setup for about 15k miles so far, just hadn’t installed the CB stuff until today
