    Hey Everyone,

I am looking for assistance in making the right decision. The boss lady and I are thinking about getting a Toy hauler.

This one to be exact: https://www.chesacorv.com/2007-fleetwood-fleetwood-nitro-230fsx-used-travel-trailer-md-i2279235

I've done some towing with smaller trailers but nothing like this. I'm just looking for some help from the towing community to make sure I'm not getting too much trailer for the truck (DC TRD Pro) and myself.

P.S... I am combing through threads all over the internet too. So.. I'm not completely incompetent.

@ColoradoTJ is the resident towing expert.

What’s the tongue and GVWR on that trailer?

Not a bad deal. I’d say you’re fine as long as you’re not looking at too many steep grades where you plan on going.
I pulled a 27’ sierra toy hauler w a 97 z71. Close to 9k lbs loaded. (Lost the 3/4 ton in divorce). It pulled it ok, although it was all flat. El Centro to superstition or imperial sand dunes. Wouldn’t have tried taking it to San Diego. Get a weight distribution hitch and make sure your trailer brake module works.

I live on the East Coast in MD... So heading up to PA would be a regular thing. I'd also head down to OBX and whatnot with it.

You'll be fine, but as @Bprose said make sure you're using a weight distribution hitch (preferably with a sway controller). Given the high tongue weight and the Tundra's less than stellar payload I'd recommend putting as much of the load in the trailer as possible.

Well. Look's like the toy hauler is out. Switching gears to a hybrid style.
