Looking at aftermarket rims and trying to wrap my head around appropiate bs or offset for 20" rims on a platinum 2016. What do we recommend?

Depends on wheel width and desired tire width. There is no general answer here. What are you planning on doing to the truck suspension wise and what are you willing to sacrifice? Cutting skid plate? Can mount chop? Removing mud flaps? Mall crawler or actually using it? Stock replacement?

Mall crawler ... I like that.

Honestly, I'll put on a leveling kit, pull the stock tires and rims off, install fender flares and black rims and a A/T tire slightly oversized only to fill in the gaps. I just want to clean it up and dress it right but modest.

Around a +18 offset on a 9" wide wheel will allow for a 35x12.50. But you will need to trim the skid plate and do a cab mount chop

If you want to do least amount of modifications, go with 35 mm offset on a 9 inch wide wheels. I've seen some guys with 35x12.5 on this offset wheels without modification.

I have 18 mm offset (9 inch wide) and I have 295/70/18, which is about 34.5 inches in diameter. This is just about the largest you could go on 18 mm offset wheels if you do not want to do some serious cutting. Anything larger will require the body mount chop. I have 3.5 inch OME lift, by the way.

    Oh one or two.
I have 35x12.50's on fuel 18x9 with a +20mm offset I removed all front plastic and the mud flaps on a leveled front end. The only time I rub anything is backing up I touch the front bumper a little when going over bumps. I haven't done a CMC and frankly I don't ever touch it from what I've seen my caster is at 2.9 so it puts me into the front more. Granted the truck is a street queen and hasn't been off road other then fire roads I've got my Tacoma for wheeling.

Check mine out, no spacers and my tires are roughly 12" wide. 20" wheels, no rubbing.

Looking back at old posts and looks like the mall "crawler might" have been the head on the nail. Lol

The truck came all tweeked out with 20" fuels that were prettier then I was looking it. But I love it. image.jpg image.jpg
