Added this one micron filter unit to my pressure washer, black trucks hate water spots. By the way that is a cat pump mated to 220v 7 1/2hp motor, over 10 years of use, just change the oil in pump twice a year.

I just got the Predator 2500 psi from harbor freight. Used it twice so far and it’s awesome. A little loud but who cares. I used to be that guy wouldn’t buy anything but a sledgehammer or something you can count on breaking from harbor freight but am pretty impressed with the pressure washer. The generator I purchased over a year ago kinda sold me with no problems.

Its a brand of pump that creates the pressure for the pressure washer
CAT pump is what increases the water pressure on a pressure washer, they a like a toyota, take care of it and they will last for years, the cheaper pressure washers pumps only have hours of life expectancy , they will break and the pressure washer is toast at that point.

Nice set up, where did u get that filter? i too have a black car and i get water spots if i dont dry it fast enough, does the water filter eliminate water spots altogether? that would make buying one worth it

What would this type of pressure washer typically cost? I don't mind spending money on quality tools.

u can find them on sale in the $600+ range for a 3,200 psi with honda motor, more than enough to wash car and things around the house, i would recommend the pressure regulator, it lowers the pressure when u want to use the pressure washer to wash you car

There is a little info on cat pumps, as i remember my pump is good for 3,000 psi and is mated to a 220v 7.5 hp electric motor with 75' foot of hose. I personally hand built the complete system starting with the pump. The motor i got from a local electric shop for around $500 , the non-marking cement hose is from Home Depot, the rest of the parts (unloader, relief valves, spray gun, tips, you can get from northern tool https://m.northerntool.com/stores/duluth-minnesota.htm
This system has 10+ years on it, i use it for my bobcat, four wheeler, motorcycle's, boat, house and cars. I've had gas ones in the past but they were good when i raced motocross and needed to bring it to the track. With a electric stationery you turn on the water, flip the switch, grab the hose and start washing. Cat pumps are very reliable and can be rebuilt.

I got the filter unit and filter from Menards should be under $40 for everything, not only will it help with the water spots but help prolong your pump life.

Got a Simpson with Honda motor a quite a few years back, wife bought it as a gift. I saw it as another home project that she wanted done. Really been a work horse. Developed a problem a few years ago where the motor lugged up as in pumping but only a small stream out of hose. Thought the pump was giving up, ordered a new pump to find the same thing.. Turned out the pressure hose had given up internally and with new hose I was back in business with a new pump head. Washes driveway, deck and wife on occasion. Simpson products are fantastic and the Honda motor is a Plus.

I almost bought a Honda powered Simpson pressure washer from Lowe's a few days ago. It was priced at $399, which is a fair price to me for a Honda unit. However, I think I'm gonna order an electric one first because I really like the idea of something small, light, and quiet for cleaning my pool deck every few weeks. Going out to the shed and lugging a big gas powered one up to the pool, filling with gas, making a racket, etc. each time sounds like a pain. Plus the last thing I need is one more gas powered motorized thing to maintain. It'll just sit most of the year except for my yearly driveway cleaning. I'll probably still get one for that, but the electric one should do just fine for the little touch up jobs every few weeks. Just easier to grab real quick and use.

    Just ordered this one:

    IMG_5429.jpg

First electric one. Hopefully it's good.

This thing is very impressive so far. I really just bought it for my pool deck and pool screen because I know it won’t damage anything, but I tried it on the driveway and it works like a champ.

Looks like it works really good for how cheap it is. I keep waiting on a Honda to go on sale somewhere but really would only use it a handfull of times a year. Thanks for reporting on that one.

No problem, glad to do it. I really wanted a Honda powered pressure washer too. All my other small engine stuff is Honda. I almost impulsively bought one a few days before I decided to try this one. But honestly I don’t really know if I even need one now. Even if this one only lasts a couple years, it’ll still cost less than the gas powered one if I have to buy another one. And now I don’t have to maintain another engine lol. Not a bad deal.

I have this one: Sun Joe SPX3000 2030 PSI 1.76 GPM Electric Pressure Washer, 14.5-Amp

I bought it over 3 years ago, and it's still going strong. Very happy with it. I use it mostly to wash out my garage floor (epoxy coated) and clean my composite deck and patio furniture.

Gave my Greenworks 2200 a good test over the weekend. I washed my Tundra and 2 cars. :benchpress:I'm happy with it but I wished the hose is a little bit longer.

Tell ya what tho...holding a pressure washer wand for more than a few minutes is very stressful on the hand..I use a spring clamp to hold the trigger down.

Adjust the foam canon tip, you should get more of a "fan" shaped spray than a straight stream of foam, give it a try on your garage door, i put some soap and a little bleach and washed my garage doors to get the hang of the foam canon

So bought this for me for Fathers day. Got it at sams club. for $329.98. Regular price was $369.98.
Got it home and used it a couple of times and had some issues. Would not idle when I let off the trigger. It would start running like I was holding the trigger. Sucked the chemical tank in.
I called Sam's today and they said I could return it. So I exchanged it for another one and it works perfect.
Sam's is a good place to buy stuff if you have one close by.

If you are looking for tires, they are great for those as well. The tire prices are the same as other places. Where they excel is at the installation cost. $15.00 per tire and it come with an additional warranty that includes road hazard. I saved $35. per tire.
    Check them out.
