I would also like to know if anyone has tried these in a 3rd Gen Tundra. Apparently the quality of the output will vary depending on the vehicle's reflector so it would be best to know real world, how does it perform in the Tundra.

Awesome! Last Friday I joined this group hoping to find a TRD Pro grill. A few quick posts/replies and i was in touch with Roman. Ordered the part from Roman Friday, received in NJ on Tuesday, installed it last night and, one week later, here's the result. Thanks guys, it was a pleasure. Now I need to decide whats next?

Same here, I'm about to pull the trigger and order the Phillips Ultinons but I need some real world opinions first because for that price I could buy some FX-R HID projectors but I'm thinking about opening my brand new headlights

I did mine and just put the blacked out TRD Pro headlights in too. I'm working through installing VLED's also. The front amber driving lights will be 6K white soon, switchback amber blinkers. Wanted the platinum LED bottom strip but the wiring in the platinum rig is different.

The truck looks awesome. In NJ, mine is the only Tundra I've seen on the road with this grill so far. I saw one other in PA. What VLED headlight brand/supplier are you considering? I'd like to know what you think of them once installed.

I've purchased a full set of the VLED lights, their here in WA up in Bellingham and have been very helpful on the phone. So far I like what I've put in (Tail, side marker, plate, and backup) their all way brighter than stock. Today I'm putting fog, switchback DRL/running lights in. The resistor setup is plug and play so no cutting into stock wiring. I'll get some photos up.
FYI: I was given a 2016 Tacoma as a loaner... There is no comparison to the Tundra, couldn't wait to get my Tundra back. Sorry Tacoma guys... Real men drive Tundra's LOL

Thanks, I found their website. Pictures are always appreciated. If you do the headlights there are a couple of us watching this thread that would like your opinion. I have a Nissan Rogue with OEM LED headlights & they are awesome but it seems the aftermarket LED's are a bit of hit & miss depending on how well they match up to the reflector in the headlight assembly. My previous truck was a Tacoma. A 2002 I bought new but sold with 330,000 on it when I moved up to the 2016 Tundra. Loved my Tacoma and now I love my Tundra though probably won't keep it as long. The Tacoma got me around economically but the Tundra gets me around in comfort & style.

I had an 02 4x4 Tacoma and sold it with 200+, loved it and it never let me down. We need more towing capacity and thats why we stepped up. Thought I would miss the Tacoma but I don't.
I have the VLED headlights sitting here, as a matter a fact I had them installed in the new TRD Pro headlights but ran out of time for the complete install and adjust.
On the 2016 Tundra the headlight is hidden in the fender well. The grille, bottom trim, and headlight have to come out for install. Once installed you have to rotate to adjust... problem is you have to remove the headlight then adjust the small allen screw (Will probably have to make a custom bend allen wrench to do this without taking the LED out). Clearly its going to be a pain! I'm going to install my fogs first to make sure I like the 6K color.
They look like quality LED's with nice fans... I also had to mod the boot (but I have extras since I bought the new TRD Pro headlights).
    LEDs_zpsr1l1pggv_1984088351d09dd194e15cab7d84dba0697b9b7e.jpg

My next two projects are the grille mod previously mentioned and I'm color matching my tailgate handle. Oh and I'm going to talk to a professional pin-stripper next week.

When you get settled dialing in the LED's, I'd like to know if you are still happy with them.

Thanks. A mod I'm super thrilled with. The full chrome grill that came with the truck was too much chrome for me.

Installed the white DRL's (switchback amber blinkers) and 6K fog lights. Took all day, 2nd side went faster than 1st side. I'm a marine electrician so this wasn't my first rodeo. I took extra time on the first side making sure the layout was clean and and laid in with the truck lighting harness. Its recommended that the resistor pack be screwed down and away from any plastic or other wiring which might cause melting. It's a nice plug and play setup with the LED DRL controller (no splicing). I also installed the rear LED blinkers at this time because I purchased the 3ohm resistor pack (6ohm resistor pack for front or rear blinkers only). There is a "Dim" wire which reduces the DRL to 10% when the headlights are turned on that has to be spliced into the headlight power wire but there is a water tight plug you can disconnect if you ever want to go back to the stock DRL setup. All in all everything went smooth and I'm happy with the VLED system.
While everything was apart I installed the VLED 6K fogs, mostly because of the extra light, not access. 5 bolts and one push pin to remove the front wheel well cover to gain access. I saw a vid that said you could do it without removing this cover but it would be a bitch and a hack job to do it any other way. The controller comes with quality 3M double face tape but there isn't a surface flat enough to do the install cleanly or close enough to the fog lamp. I used the tape but also drilled a single hole and used a zip tie around the frame and controller to insure it didn't fall off on the first speed bump. You'll want to test polarity for the LED/controller plug before making the last connection. One of the hardest parts was getting the collar in the right spot pre-install so that the LED was in the right horizontal position after twist locking it into the fog light housing. First side took 4 tries, second side 2...
Both installs went in real clean and I'm happy with both. I like the 6K light (personal preference) and love the white DRL's with my white truck.

You'll need to have the bumpers wrapped (front/back), color match hood scoop & grill, and TRD Pro headlights (Blacked out). Will set you back around $1500 depending on where you get the wrap done and if the dealer will price match the cheapest internet price. Mine did but I slapped down $40K cash plus another $2500 for suspension and leather (Something about large piles of cash moves people). Call your dealer for part #'s FYI: My dealer put my truck on a rack for 3 days and handed me the wheels (no charge) so I could have them powder coated gunmetal ($85 each). The Bilstein 5100's all around (front leveling adjusters) and TRD rear anti-sway bar will significantly improve the ride. Bilstein's first .87" setting leveled my truck, but I have a 200 lb canopy.

Do the TRD pro headlights work with the headlight leveling?

Keep in mind you need to remove the grille and panels below the headlights to get the headlights off. If your thinking of doing the TRD Pro grille and can afford it I personally would do the headlights at the same time.
    FYI: I paid...
    TRD Pro headlights $200.49 each
    TRD Pro Grille $260.89
    TRD Pro hood bulge $191.11

I'm going to have a used black TRD grill set with a long scratch on it for sale (for someone that is willing to get it repainted or deal with the cosmetic defect -- someone keyed my truck) for maybe $200.

Yeah, I found the grille and bulge on ebay for $489 with free shipping. Local dealership in Escondido wanted to charge me over 6 bills and said it was backordered. Dealership in Florida had it and I found the lights. Changing them all out this weekend.

Found mine from a dealership on ebay. Sold me both the grill and bulge under 500 with free shipping. Every dealership was back ordered or wanted over 6 for both.

Anyone who may be interested I have the MGM surround with the typical chrome insert to sell - no hood bulge. if your interested I will send picture & price. Surround was never used and chrome center has about 10,000 miles on it and is in great condition.

Suggest you get a price from Roman who participates on this blog. He seems to have excellent prices and, being a Toyota dealer parts manager, knows what he's doing. Just scroll up to April 29 looking for a member named Roman and you got him.
