I plastidipped the pieces. I was near the bottom of the can and it got a little bit splattered. Now that I know I like it, I may redo it in flat black Rust-Oleum or something like that. I don't think I'll do the vent surrounds because I'm afraid of getting too much red.

@HecticEnergy I would have wrapped but I can't do it without leaving creases  so I opted for paint. Me and decals stickers don't get along well. I wanted carbon fiber too. Was also thinking of carbon fiber trim on the roof as well. It will tie in my carbon fiber tailgate inserts and TRD badge on tailgate.

I like it much better without the chrome. Still not a fan of red, but that is where personal preference comes in. I personally would have gone with orange inserts :p

Orange would not have looked good with the red stitching on the pro interior. IMO.

Not to derail my own thread here but after making the modifications, I decided to detail the rest of the interior. It is the 2-year anniversary of my truck so I figured it was time. I used Meguiars leather cleaner and conditioner to go over all surfaces. I have found that McGuire's works really well at removing Rottweiler slobber from all surfaces including textured Plastics.

The next Focus will be the exterior with a thorough wash, claybar, and wax.

Still to much but definitely better. I see bubbling in the plasti dip. That would drive me nuts!
But, like may have said if you dig it then that’s all that matters

Yep, that's the splatters from running out of Plasti Dip. The beauty of that stuff as you can peel it off by hand and redo it. Like I said, now that I know I like the Chrome delete I will probably redo it and something permanent.

bubbles are usually my problem, but i'm fine with smaller stickers (just line it up on one edge, hold it off the glass except for that edge, then use a rubber wedge (or a credit card) to smooth it down slowly and evenly.

If it was all in the same spot, I'd agree, too much red- but it's replacing the chromed accents with your accent color. But again, It's your truck! If you're happy, that's all that matters :)

honestly what I don't like is that shifter.

the rest is ok-ish with the chrome gone.

no comment on the pedal covers.

what would look really good is having the entire console leather wrapped with red stitching. then you'd be looking sharp!

I think your red accent colors look great! Here’s a pic of what I did with all the chrome on mine. I didnt Install the blue and black trim pc around the led cup holder. 3DCB8C3E-79F1-4C6D-945B-379A8E1640C7.jpg

I think yours looks great. I am very partial to red accents. Here's mine. I also have cup holder pieces (and also inside door handle) but since I always have something in cup holders, they don't really show. Perhaps I should get more red, haha.

Removing that chrome made all the difference.

hey man. I was just going to do the shift gate and the silver surround, but I’m glad I saw what you did here. I thought about this too and looks way better than I expected. What paint did you use? It looks so so smooth and well done. Nicely done!

The gray looks good and it doesn’t hurt your retinas when you look at it. I was going to go the red route, but was afraid it was to much red.
