Today the wife and I were bored, so why not go out and throw some lead down range before the storms hit?

When we arrived, I just got ill. I'm not sure what people think when shooting, but leaving a mess like this is just rediculous.

    image.jpg

So we grabbed the AR, some boxes/bags and went to work after we picked up our brass.

    image.jpg

25 minutes of work, a full bed load and a pile of junk. Flippen sad. I guess Coloradians never had to pay for every outdoor recreation event.

Talk about giving the gun opponents ammo to shoot us in our asses.

So people of Tundras.com, how does your state handle this crap?

I make it a point to pick up my brass and anyone I'm with is to do the same. This is how we lose our "free"'areas to shoot...same while wheeling. Do NOT leave ANY trash (we do have volunteers that clean the trails, but that's not the point)

We always used to pick up after 4H shoots, so we just got in the habit. I've always done it anywhere I've shot.

It just mind boggles me that people cannot even have a little foresight in what could happen if a place is left a shithole.

Now, most of the shooting areas around Colorado Springs is off limits and the FS has been handing out fines. To be honest with you all, I am glad. Going up in the mountains close to town was like taking a tour in Iraq. I remember a couple of ass wipes that were shooting illegally by a very popular Jeep trail close to Colorado Springs. They stopped shooting until we were just about to pass and thought it was funny to start shooting again (like we had flippen ear plugs in). So myself and the guy behind me did something that they didn't expect. I will leave the rest to imagination. I'm pretty sure they will not pull something like that again.

And you didn't even call. What is a fellow Tundra owner to think?

We were shooting in the snow north of Woodland Park. Other than that, nice day.

Just a few, more to come
I've seen similar in the desert out here in Nor Nevada when I go out wheeling and shooting. I always pack out more than I packed in.

No kidding there. The desert can be a dumping ground for sure. I really had to watch it in CA when blasting through the unknown.

Thanks Matt. That is a great place to start. However, I posted the same thing on a Shooting forum and seems to me people are not going to even look at it.

That is cool Sean, but if gun owner forum are like "screw it", not sure why off-road forums should clean up gun ranges.

I agree and am a member. The gun shooting crowd seems to think the off-road community "will do it".

Sean, why not start Stay the Trail thread? I have no problem bumping it up if needed. All of us Tundra CO guys need to be aware of this org.
