The first LED I used was too dim so I swapped it out with a brighter one. Now the problem is it's too bright. :annoyed::D

I'm ordering a blue one but I think it's going to be just as bright. I'm wondering if there is a way to add a dimmer. More research....

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
Just run a few resistors on the power wire to dim the light. Typically your white LED's are going to have more lumens, so you may need a few. Judging by the brightness in the vid, you may need 2-4. The blue LED's will likely have less lumen (in the same size), so you may only need 1 or 2 resistors.

'Just another thought I had after watching your first vid....
Might there be a way to put a small blue LED in the switch? I know it would only work if the white lettering has a clear backing, like the other switches. I've never really looked at the switch to much. :notsure:

Thank you, sir. I'll have to play around with that. I was tempted to take the back of the switch off to see if those letters have clear backing. I'll look for a used switch on Ebay to experiment with.To be continued...

I think I have a second one. It was 2 for 1. Wish I knew when I picked up the compressor.

Just curious, in the video they looked really purple and I wasn't sure if it was the camera or the color of the light. I bought a couple of the UV LEDs just to play with, they weren't very bright, but they are true UV and did make every bit of white lint glow.

It's the camera. The LEDs are actually blue. These are not that bright but that's how I like them.

Big thanks to the OP, nk1794!
I have cursed this unlit switch many times as I try to fold in the mirrors when I am in public parking spaces. This is both as a courtesy to neighboring parking spots, and as a defense to protect a set of very expensive mirrors.
Seriously, Toyota, how many cents does the LED in the switch module cost?
I chose an Oznium Premium Side View LED Bolt (in RED) P/N 3955 (off Amazon $17.98 for two). I chose the right angle style as it directed the light on the switch. I decided on the Red LED as it went with my Barcelona Red 1794. Also, the red light doesn't affect your night vision.
The right-angle style sticks out a bit more than the OPs, but that doesn't seem to be a problem.
I ran a trial with it taped in place and plugged into the power port for a week. I installed it permanently in this morning. It took about 30 minutes.
Here is the link to what I used:
