Aluminum oil filter housing part #?

    Somebody posted one of these in an oil change thread awhile ago and I've been scouring the web since. So many options and shareable Toyota vehicles under the same assumed part... Confusing. Short of going to the dealer, and yes I used the search function, anybody have a Gen 3, 5.7L with towing package, cooler etc that has experience with these? Part #? Recommend a store?

    I got the aluminum housing right off Amazon. I thought I remember someone saying that the center piece needs to be swapped out. I haven’t installed my yet.

    My parts guy in Kentucky came up with this... Hats off to Jason at Toyota South for his efforts. Crazy that they all seem plastic and are universal (mostly) Thanks guys.

    No problem Steve. I also checked the Sequoia and it's showing the same part number. I also checked the other housings I stock and they were all plastic too.

    I read through the thread you sent me (thanks for the mention BTW) and I see where they are saying the
    $35 15620-31060 15643-31050
    15620-31060 will work if you change the center strainer portion. Just FYI, but the 31060 fits several different vehicles; Camry, Avalon, Highlander, Rav4, Seinna, & Venza in both the 2.5L and 3.5L engines. Looking at the pictures I sent earlier, it looks like the strainer just twists out

    I also compared the 04152-YZZA1 oil filter that uses the 31060 housing, to the
    $31 04152-YZZA4 Replaceable Oil Filter Element 1/2 Case (QTY 5)
    04152-YZZA4 filter for the Tundra. They both look to be the same diameter, with the Tundra filter being quite a bit taller, which you probably already know.

    No problem. I could do the 15620-31060 $27.50 plus shipping. I think these are light enough to go First Class Mail, which would making shipping ~$4. I know that's more than what they are listed for on Amazon, but I have no idea how they selling them that low, paying shipping, paying fees, and still making money. Probably sourcing them through JDM.
