My tires are in the last 50% of their life, so naturally I'm thinking about new ones. @SCSPerformance always has the cleanest wheel designs, and from what I hear great customer service to boot. I want to move to 17's to increase the tire/wheel ratio, I think the trucks look way better that way. Unfortunately, no 17" love yet from SCS. Would anyone else buy a set - maybe have an existing design made in 17" to save some design costs?

I think FN is coming out with a 17" rim. May want to check with them.

This is good to hear. I have FNs Countersteer Type X's on another Toyota, curious what design they're going with.

I already have a decent 18" BFD setup. If I was just starting from scratch, the 17" is the route I'd take.

I'd so rock a set of their 17" wheels if they didn't have the silly simulated bead locks on them. HATE that look, its really damn hard to find wheels without it now days though.

What size tire would I need for 20” wheels to get the same tire/wheel ratio that you get with the 17”’s

Wow I didn’t think I’d get a response that quick. I’m starting with a stock 07’ Tundra Crewmax. Would I need a lift for those?

I saw a plate you could get welded on to make your tires not rub but I want to lift it some but I drive around 100 interstate miles a day and don’t want to wreck the way it drives.

I'm running 18" with 34.5" tires and have 2.5" OME coil overs. 17" rims get you to the ideal "off-road" ratio with 35" inch tires. 20" rims changes everything if you want that "off-road" ratio. Especially with your wallet. Tires become super pricey. Serious clearance issues without substantial lift. I believe there are a coupe guys here doing that.

Cab mount chop plate required for sure with 35" and up. Wheel offset needs to be considered too.

Sounds like I should take the stock 20’s off and go back with the set up you have. Does it drive considerably different?

I want to get enough lift so I can put on the Amped automatic step. Do you think the 2.5 you have would work for me?

Go with 17". I would. My 18" drives fine. Tires a bit heavy affecting gas mileage but I don't care about that at all.

Depends on what your off roading habits are I guess. My OME setup would work for you but check out the Eibach setup that ToyTec sells. Call and ask for David..

Yeh I’m not so much worried about the mpg. Ok so I’ll go with 17”s And your saying I can get a 35” tire? And that set up is reasonably priced? Which suspension would you do? I have to drive a dirt road everyday that’s like 4 miles each way so I’m hoping to improve the drive on it so it doesn’t rattle my teeth once I get up to around 40 mph.

I really like my OME setup. Got that from ToyTec. The Eibach is more affordable. I have an "add a leaf" out back with ToyTec shackles. There are several sizes of tires available for 17" rims. Sounds like Michelin AT tires would be a great fit for you. Not sure what sizes Michelin has for 17" but you could check on Michelins' website.

I really appreciate your help. Would I get those for the front and rear? And what do you think about air bags for ride comfort or is that best for helping with towing?
