The mud hole looks like it may have been a puckering moment.

haha! Guys who are die hard 26ers remind me of guys who prefer a dumb phone with hard keys over a galaxy, or someone who insists on hand signing a pdf and scanning/emailing it instead of e-signing it, or guys who prefer solid axle over IFS, or or...

    ;););)

It wasn't as bad it looks. Well to me anyways. I've had much worse pucker moments than that lol

Holy crap Alex you have no idea how bad that hurts. I just signed, scanned and e-mailed a pdf yesterday. Now I have to call my therapist on my flip phone.

    LOL... You got me there!!
I'm not saying I'm ANTI wagon wheel. In fact, I almost got a Capra recently. I had the money saved up and was ready to take the plunge, but my wife commented one day, "Your truck is getting kinda old. Why don't you look into a new truck and not a new bike." That's when I discovered this site, TT and the UberFarts. It was all over from there!!
    New Truck
    $5k in suspension
$1K for sliders (just installed them over the weekend!!)
    Pressurized water setup
    Scepter water and fuel jugs
New wheels for the new truck
Custom Rack from PapaSmurf in the works
RTT and bumpers on the distant horizon...
    :spending:

So yeah... I'll be running 26 for the foreseeable future.
    :help:

Check out my build thread below!!

I'll get rid of my CD's when the adapter I use to connect them to my cassette tape-deck gives out!!

Your truck is gnarly! Cool to see you made a plan with the build and stuck to it, over that long of a duration it must have been hard.

How'd you like Snow Summit? I was there at the end of May, first time ever doing downhill. I thought it was awesome! Did everything besides one of the splits on party wave (although I cased a ton of the jumps :anonymous:).

    Right on homie!

haha! Yeah it was definitely a journey! I made a few mistakes too. but overall definitely worth it!

Snow summit is dope AF! I mostly stick to Miracle Mile, I prefer enduro trails over jump parks.

thanks homie! Cruz back to SoCal and lets go wheeling!

Here's a media dump from last weeks trip to Sequoia. I had a blast! Laying in the river, soaking up the sun, climbing mountains, etc. I broke my CV axle on the first day. I was lucky because I broke my out joint and the housing was intact. I was able to pull the whole axle out, stuff a rag in the diff to keep the dirt out, and leave the outer joint housing in the hub to hold the bearing together. Less then 2 hours down and I was ready to roll out in 2wd. We skipped all the technical trails I had planned, but then the trip turned into a relaxing weekend laying around monache meadows and I was totally cool with that.

I had Pro Gear install new oem CVs onto my LT axle and I put the axle in yesterday. I'm going to try the SDHQ CV boots and see if I can stop the leaking. btw, as much grease as I was leaking, when I pulled the boot off the joint still had plenty of grease. I got 65k hard miles out of that axle, I think it was just time lol

I'm going to carry an inner joint and outer CV housing on the trail for now until I decide if I am going to buy RCV axles or not. If I break an inner, I can swap the inner on the trail, it's just a couple c-clips. If I break an outer or the axle shaft, I can pull the whole thing, install the outer housing to hold the hub together, and install the inner joint (or just the housing) by itself into the diff to act like a plug and keep the oil in. Then just finish the trip in 2wd. Don't be afraid of pulling your axle, its super easy. Literally 3 bolts. You do need a big azz socket though (39mm I think).

Well that's a right fit cunt there in the blue, innit? @spenny

Would have liked to been on this one.
But, as much as my friends do for me when I go out of town, I had to watch a few properties while they were all out of state.

Cheers boys, I should be up for Sep/Oct.

I have Baja on my calendar for Oct 1-8 but have to push it a day or two because I got permits to hike on Sept. 30th. Let me check with the boss lady cause everything revolves around her school for the next 2yrs. In the same boat as Bruce with available time. Otherwise Moab would work

So I haven't started up The Truck in about a month now LOL but just to update, I fixed the CV (oem) and replaced the fluids in the front diff and transfer case. I'm going to replace the fluid in the rear diff with 75w140. Today @01erionracing is going to try patching up my fiberglass tear in the rear. He says its easy, I'm super curious to see how this goes. Maybe I'll start learning fiberglass repair. There are several spots that could use some tlc

Next week we're gonna explore Spangler Hills and Trona Pinnacles. I've got a busy fall schedule for trips. Summer I had too many other things going on, so I plan on making up for it

Fiberglass repair is super easy. Personally, I prefer vinylester as opposed to polyester resin as it's stronger and less brittle.

You mentioned that you are getting lockers and such, know which way you're going to go with it? ARB air lockers or what have you?

Yeah I've done some light reading. It does look pretty easy. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes in person. sanding finishing and gel coat look like the hard parts. I also don't want to spend a bunch of money to tool up. I'm trying to put my money into other things right now

Yeah I'll be getting 4.88 nitro and ARB front and rear. But probably not until next year. It's very low on my list of priorities.
