hey guys, i just bought my first ever tundra! Now its time for upgrades and need inputs please. I got a 2016 tundra SE TRD 4x4 offroad in metallic grey. I just ordered matching fender flares. I want to lift it a little to get bigger tires. Would you guys recommend 3"/1" or 3"/2"? I was looking at getting Toyota Tundra SR5 Rock Warrior 2012-2016 3"F 1"R Lift ReadyLift Part # 69-5175. Is this the way to go or go with someone else? Any other recommendations on what to do to the truck as well would be greatly appreciated. Exhaust? Nerf running boards? Rims? Tires? anything would be a great help.

What's your budget? I run the Toytec BOSS kit and don't have any complaints.

I was looking at either the TU3- 3" Lift for 07 & UP Tundra or the readylift 3"/1" lilft that costs in the $350 range? Is that not the way to go?

Congrats on the awesome Tundra! Where are you at in Florida? Wish I could drive my truck on the beach here in Panama!

As far as exhaust goes, many on here and other Tundra forums go to Keith (dirtydeeds) for our exhaust setups. He specializes in different systems for our Tundras and he can recommend which system would best suit your needs based on how you want it to sound and how you use the truck. Search BAMufflers and you'll find plenty of videos and reviews.

Check out Toytec for your lifting needs. Their website is easy to navigate and you will quickly find most of the options out there for lifting our trucks. You also get a tundras.com member discount I believe.

Since you got a crewmax, you should also check out the under seat storage option for the back seat. Wish they made one for the DC.

Unless your a fan of the chrome, you could also consider a color matched grille and surround. Really just depends what your style is. Some people like to black out everything (like me) other's prefer color matched, and some people still like chrome. Also depends on which rims/steps you decide to go with. Search the forum some and you will find a bunch of options as far as those go.

Any rims between +12 and +30 offset will work fine and give you a more aggressive stance. What size tires are you wanting to go with? 295/70/18 is a good size if you don't wanna have to do much to make them fit.

Thank you for your help! I actually live in Indiana but was a New Smyrna Beach Florida during that pic.

I just sent Keith a message for advice but I'm thinking I'm going with a 7" tip. I also just ordered a 3"/1" toytec lift. I don't know if I want to get rid of the chrome or not. I keep looking at pics and am trying to decide.

The under seat storage will be a definite buy as well!

I haven't decieded on tires yet, but i'm thinking 33

No problem! The 6-8" systems actually signify the length of the muffler. 6" is the loudest of the bunch and 8" is the deepest (they all sound good). His systems don't come with a tip, and they use the factory tailpipe. What he gives you is just the muffler section that bolts on just like your old one comes off. You can buy a tip from him or you could purchase one online. I cut the flared portion off the end of my tailpipe and bolted a tip onto the smaller section and it worked out well. Search the forum when the time comes and look for one of my threads about inlet size for exhaust tips and you can find what inlet size you need, can't remember it off the top of my head.

Personally I do not like spacer leveling kit. But if I were to go with spacers, I would go with Toytec kit. They seem to have good design (portion in the coil and portion above the coil).

For exhaust, you can't go wrong with Keith's products.

Welcome from CO. Nice Tundra. I agree with Sean. You need to call ToyTec. Can't hurt. 303-255-4959 (I like your user name by the way)

If you do a lot of night driving and are into lighting, an HID projector retrofit will rock your socks. I did mine this past winter and I love the difference.

I also put a TRD Pro grill and matching hood bulge on mine, I'm happy with the looks of it.

I just installed the Toytec Boss kit. It rides great. Over your budget price though. I always recommend going with new shocks with stock coils or new coilovers over the block lifts. OME has a good kit that isn't too bad on price and includes new coils.
Sounds like you already purchased a Toytec spacer lift though. It will give you the look and added tire size you want.

For wheels i have 17" Rock Warrior Wheels. I would recommend either 17 or 18. I think there are a few more size choices with with 17 and the tires are a little cheaper.
Tires for the 20" wheels are ridiculously over priced considering your getting less rubber.

Agree with Sean and Brian, either 17 or 18 is best imo.

    My opinion = "0"
I've had 4 Toyota trucks and @ 57 y's/o I'm more into comfort and a personalize look than all jacked up. I'm also more conscientious of MPG now... cause lets face it, Tundras don't have the best MPG to start.
Keep in mind our new 2016 TRD Tundra will be used for fishing expedition road trips and towing (Boat/travel trailer) so comfort is very important along with MPG.
We kept the TRD wheels and had them custom powder coated gunmetal (issues with stock clear coat bubbling or flaking around saltwater). I was going to drive the stock Michelin tires off before switching out but the more I looked at them they just didn't fill the wheel wells to my liking. Switched out to Michelin Defender2 275x70x18's (only 1" oversize but to the eye much better). These tires also have a stronger sidewall for towing and get rave reviews everywhere you look. To level the truck I 1st I installed toytec leveling spacers and hated them. Out with the spacers and in with the Bilstein 5100's with front adjusters. Truck ride is awesome now. I also went with the TRD rear anti-sway bar, this really improved the cornering of the truck and dollar for dollar I highly recommend this upgrade.
Different subject but stripped all badges (super clean look), color match mirror, door handles, TRD Pro grille, TRD Pro headlights, 100MX Leer canopy... Katzkin leather and am also working through full VLED bulb replacement.

My next project is to remove "Toyota" from the front grille and install a custom insert in its place including above and below. After building the inserts I'll have them powder coated to match. Sure I could buy a Grillcraft insert but I'd look like everyone else!

Wise choice losing the spacers. Came with my Tundra. Dumped them as soon as I could afford it. If you are a Mall Crawler, spacers fit the bill.

I only needed .75" - 1" to level the truck and after an exhaustive search it seemed the answer was obvious. Toyota wanted to do an add a leaf to bring the back up because the spacer made it to high in the front after the canopy was put on. Talk about chasing your tail! Anyways the Bilstein 5100's all around with the front adjusters leveled the truck (first setting @ .87). Awesome ride and I'd recommend them even if a guy wasn't leveling.

Truck looks like it's coming along nicely... For rims I would say check out this company called anthem off-road... They are a new company and have some pretty nice rims and great prices

I'm liking these in matte black...I'm going to go with 18" rims, but what bolt pattern and offset do you guys recommend. I'd like to get a wider stance to try and line up with the fender flares. I'm looking at Nittro Terra Grapplers II as well in 33" range? What do you guys think?
