Not trying to be an A$$ but asking for my own education but is it even legal to be driving on the dunes? That is strictly forbidden on every other beach I have ever driven on including other TX beaches.

ive never had a problem. idk if you've been here, but it is mainly offroad vehicles. not many cars will make it to the water let alone out of the entrance here. if you don't have 4x4 or arent sending it 50mph+, some days you wont make it through. hell, if I crawl with 2wd in the entrance, I wont make it. ill get about 50ft.

there are tons of meets they put on down here and there are always lines and lines of badass rides going through the dunes. ive seen cops and life guards patrolling and never a problem.

I don't believe it is illegal, as there are no signs present that say otherwise. there are lots of trails even passed the dunes for the guys that want to get muddy as well.

never been down there but that area and the Bolivar have been on my list. I spend a lot of time at Padre island national Seashore outside of Corpus and have made it down to Matagorda a few times as well.

I like this one a little more than bolivar just because it has a little more freedom. I haven't been to Matagorda in some time, but im taking a trip down there soon for some hunting and fishing.

if youre looking for some hassle free fun and want to mess around in the sand, San Luis Pass is the best place to do it IMO

No you wouldn’t. It may surprise where you can get in that thing. Just air down your tires. I’ve been in some pretty nasty stuff in a 2X with a Posi. Drove right past stuck 4 x 4’s who didn’t air down there tires. Drove right past stuck 4 x 4‘s who didn’t air down their tires.
In my tundra when it was in stock form, I put it in for high and climbed a very loamy tore up soft and hill climb. I went up it like it was nothing. I was very surprised.
