I thought this could be a DIY, but after watching this video, I will need the pros.

I don’t mind removing the “pumpkin” and drop off....that I can do..

I'm pulling the trigger today or this evening on gears and LSD. Does anyone know of any deals going on? Or discounts? The boss basically told me to shit or get off the pot.

ETA, I have read through this and was wondering of current, like within the last few days, thanks.

    Flux capacitor!
The deals posted above from Instagram are listed below whole sale pricing. Best pricing I've ever seen for 4.88 gears.

What's the main difference between a posi and LSD? A local shop recommended a posi in addition to the 4:88 gears.

    Hi,
After you guys go from 4.30 to 4.88, do you have to update the on-board computer ? Is this done with the Bullydog ?
With the ARB lockers installed, what happens to the factory traction control. Is it disabled when the lockers are engaged ?
Talked to a shop who know about the mechanical aspect, but not too keen on the electronic part. Perhaps you guys could advise...

Btw, I am running a supercharged 16 TRD Pro, on 37" Ridge Grapplers/ 18" wheels, and 6" lift. Super charger was installed when I had 35's which ran great. Up'd to 37" tires for about 3 month now. It is still not slow by any means, but runs inefficiently.

Braking kind of worries me to, another topic.

I went from 430 to 488 and installed the supercharger at the sametime. I opted for Auburn LSD instead of the locker as I don't go offroading.

Auburn helps in day to day driving and winter weather conditions. Locker is more hardcore for off roaders. You need to engage and disengage the locker when its needed. LSD works differently and its all automatic.

I dont know about traction control w locker. I am running 35s w 3 inch lift. Was thinking of going to 37 but i m pretty happy w the ride rightnow.

What do u mean the truck runs inefficiently?

Can't answer anything about the sc. I have 4.88s and an Auburn as well. I have accidentally left 2 lines on the black top. You can turn off the nannies or leave them on. TC works normal. No need to do anything to the electronics because of the gears.

Sorry guys, "runs Inefficiently" I meant lower mpg and sluggish.
Could you recommend a gear shop in so Cal.

At 75-80 mph I'm turning around 2200 rpm. My MPG went up about .5 mpg, maybe? What I really like is I'm back in OEM power band and my truck does not down shift so much on the hills and in the mountains. That's a win for me!

Are you located in the west coast ? I was wondering who did your install.
Running inefficiently I meant w/o re-gearing the truck is sluggish and low on mpg

I m in Chicago so quite far for u. Good idea to do 4:88 w 37s. My MPG through fuelly is 13 but the dash display shows 16.5-19

My speedometer is still off from the speed I get from bullydog GT tuner mounted on dash. I m still investigating speed and mileage calibration. Will get to the bottom eventually.

You will have to get the hypertech speed calibrator to correct the speedometer. The bulldogs, DAP, or other tuners will not correct for larger size tires

How would this impact my 2008, 4.7L? I'm only running 33's (275/70/18) and while it still has some power, it's definitely not where it was completely stock. Would love to run 295's in a few years, but don't want the truck to be a dog.

I don't have one yet, but from the research I have done, it does not affect a tune. That was a concern I have as well since I have the DAP tune and plan to go up to 35s when i wear out my 295s.

Hey guys, been a member for about a year but this is my first post... epitome "lurker"! Forums awesome with so much info and knowledge.

So I've been planning on lifting my truck and upgrading tires, reading everything this site has to offer to make my decision. My plan is to do BDS 3 inch or 3.5 inch, 33s or 35s. Just waiting on funds to come around, especially tough with my wedding this year :rofl:. I've never lifted a truck before so I hadn't even considered changing the gears once I do... Do you guys suggest me doing the gears first? Cause then when I do the lift and tires I'll be good to go. I've been taking my time with the upgrades cause I want to do it right the first time!

Appreciate any help or directions, thanks guys

You know that you can turn air lockers on and off right? Off for when you’re not off-road? I run both F/R lockers and only use them off road. On road, they’re no engaged. You have to disengage TT in order for them to work anyway? So the whole argument about not getting air lockers because they tear up axles is true to an extent. The variable being their ability to deactivate.

I second this question. I'm stock 5.7 2wd, but plan on getting 33s and an lsd installed. Would a regear benefit me? WWYD?
