I have a Ring. It has one major down side. Last week I got a text from my wife asking why I was trying to sneak in a new fishing rod. With out Ring I would have been able to get home before her and mix it in with the others.

I have the ring pro. Not bad. I hardwired it and run converter. I sometimes have delays but it might be due to the ring chime I use between the doorbell and wifi router.I also have Arlo around the house and it works good beside the battery emptying quick on high traffic areas. Might hardwire some of them

Don’t all of these require that you pay for a monthly service? Can y’all please post what the cost of service is? I’m very interested in the idea, but in retirement, our fixed income has very real limits.

No, ring you can pay a fee for them to keep your videos for 6 months or you can choose not to. I pay $30/year for the cloud storage. If the camera catches something or someone, you would want the video saved.

I picked the Skybell HD strictly based on the fact you don't have to pay for the video it captures. No subscription. Very happy with it. 1080 video with no lag, but you have to have a minimum of 5MB upload speed from your ISP to run 1080 video properly.

Yanked the POS Nest off my house and returned for a Ring 2.
I had nothing but issues with nest “going offline” and Nest knows they have an issue but refuses to take responsibility.
Their customer service was terrible with wait times often exceeding an hour.
At this point I would say stay away from the Nest until they get all the bugs worked out.

I’ve had my Nest Hello for almost a year. Initially when I got it I had maybe a handful of connection issues but when I upgraded my old router to an Orbi 8 months ago, the doorbell has been solid with no drops. I’ve been very happy with it. Went from an original Ring to the Nest Hello.

Glad it’s working for you. Mine however sucked! And the nail in the coffin for me was the customer service.

If you read Nest forums about the issue you will see it is widespread. So much so that Nest has finally made a statement in regards to the issues.

Very easy to do. I killed the breaker to the existing doorbell, removed old one and wired in the Ring. Works well, only thing I don't like is when I pull up the app the "Ring Always Home" startup/title screen stays on way too long. I get it, it's Ring, now pull up my damn doorbell screen!
