Empirically speaking, I believe these CM vs DC debates originate via some competition owners try to have to demonstrate the superiority of one over the other. As someone who has owned both and is now a DC owner I feel as though CM owners look down on DCs as being less valuable. Naturally, DC owners are going to argue their worth.

Equal value! Just one has more room IN the cab for activities and the other IN the bed:D:devil:

I was torn between the (lack of) configurations, but found a double cab for what I felt like was a decent deal.

It is definitely not a ideal for my kids; ones in a rear facing car seat, the other is forward facing, but still reclined. I have to move my seat up beyond where I’d normally have it (I’m 6ft) but it’s not awkward or uncomfortable for me. My older one’s feet basically sit up against the back oy my seat though. Hopefully when they’re both in boosters it’ll be roomier.

The summary of my ramble is that I wouldn’t discount a double cab just because of car seats. But, at the same time, if you run out of bed space, you may be able to make two trips. If you run out of cab space, it’d probably be frowned upon to leave a kid behind and come back for ‘em later.

Ehhh.... it’s a pickup truck, I don’t think ppl care that much. one and the same. Neither are particularly special.

11’ long snowmobile in bed so DC.
Would love to see a DC SB. Would not buy one but it would look sweet and be decent offroad.

It seems lik the whole DC v. CM discussion may not be addressing what we all actually want. A single seat up front, with a cooler where the front passenger seat is, and storage space in the back of the cab. Our families can follow behind us in a sedan.

My 12 year old is about 5'8". My 9 year old is around 5'2". I'm 6'8". My oldest, who is actually my step-daughter is only 5'8" - so it would be ok for her...but DC doesn't work for us.

TRD rear sway bar, console organizer, stubby antenna, LEDs for cabin, cargo, license plate, and reverse lights, power-fold mirrors, Westin nerf bars, full stereo upgrade. Future - color-match grill surround/bulge, mirror caps, handles, plasti-dip badges.
I'm a gigging drummer with a 2.5-year-old and a 5-month-old. I can haul all my drums and gear in the short bed of the CM (which I would not be able to do in an SUV) and I can also haul tall stuff like a fridge or a snowblower. My biggest drum case is actually too tall to fit in the bed under the tonneau, but it fits in the back seat. Being a homeowner and a DIY-er, I have to have a truck, and it's nice to be able to fit the car seats easily and no kicking the back of the seat. It's all in how you use it.
