Is there a way to stop the engine from stopping when I apply the brakes?

Hi, I have a 2017 TRD Pro and it is driving me nuts when I am driving aggressively and use the brake and throttle the engine dies/cuts off. Is there a way to stop this so when I am braking it won't effect the engine?

    Thanks

    David

Get a tuner that disables the smart stop or always step on the brake first before stepping on the gas. Whenever you are on the gas and step on the brakes (both at the same time) the smart stop will engage and kill the gas input allowing you to brake normally. Blame the unintended acceleration fiasco.

Awesome and thanks to everyone that responded! I read the posts on Beast Mode and will try this first. Any recommendations on a tuner that will turn this off?

OK... I turned off the traction control and put it in tow mode... the engine will still cut off when you apply the brakes. So I need some kind of programmer to turn this off. Any ideas?

    Thanks

You should still be able to brake first, then get on the gas. Also 4wd 'might' disable smart stop . Sorry can't help more, I never got the BST recall update nor do I ever plan to. Unfortunately all 2011+ come with BST from the factory.

Can you give us more info? What is turned on/off? Only time I ever get any engine breaking like that is when tow haul is on and I tap the brakes without any throttle.

If I blip the throttle she keeps cruising.
