There’s a camper tent add on for 190$. I’m not sure what it looks like with it or anything but I didn’t think I’d need one since I’d be fine getting an inflatable bed mattress and just chill with the topper

That’s what I did. Since you have a double cab, you will be a lot more comfy.

I’m 5’9” short and with a 5’5” bed, it sucked. Taking my oldest 4.2’ daughter Jeeping was fun, just not the sleeping part.

Noice it looks pretty cool like that. And I’m 5’8 115lbs I think I could manage to be somewhat comfy considering I’d be sleeping in a truck lol

I would say no. The rail mounts hook like a C-clamp inside the bed.

So the soft topper connects to the rails? Your response to him reminded me that the rails exist in my bed I didn’t know if that’s what the topper connects to or what

The softopper has its own rail that sits on top of the bed caps, and then secured by some c-clamp style fasteners.

I wonder if i some how could notch the cover that came with my tundra. It wont bother me. I like the soft topper just want to make a little extra security for peeking eyes.

The soft topper folds up very easily and can lay in the bed.

Do you have a hard cover slide or tri-fold?

There's an idea. Partner up with SofTopper to make a SofTopper-friendly tonneau!

There is a way to do it, but you’re not going to like the suggestion.

The only time i think i would fold it down is when i carry my motorcycle to the track. The truck came with that soft cover that you roll it up towards the cab.

Yep you can and I used to get comments all the time from people asking what the softopper was. It looks awesome rolling down the road with the sides up.

That’s not true. The installation directions on Softopper’s website say the front must be secured by screwing snaps into the front part of the bed. You can use Velcro if it will stick.........

Hey y’all, reviving an old tread here. I installed the Softopper on my 2018 DC Tundra today. It was 53 degrees out, and felt cooler. The bed rail mounts that came with the topper were useless, no matter how I tweaked them, I couldn’t get the rail to lay flat. Ended up using good old C-clamps. The canvas cover was so tight, that I couldn’t get the back snaps on, is this a cool weather thing? Will it stretch when it get a bit warmer?

My Softopper is pretty difficult to deal with during cool weather, but if it's 70F and sunny there's no problem.

Also check out the different clamps that they have on the web site. The clamps that came with my top for a 6.5' bed on the double cab worked, but I have been thinking about ordering two more for added security.

In my experience it does feel like they do shrink in cold weather (story of our lives, right?)

What I did is the button where the canvas snaps onto on the rails I didn’t tighten all the way; mine or a little loose so I can slide left or right in order to make it easier on myself. So far I have not had any issues with leaving em a bit loose.

    Hope that helps
