My 2008 5.7l tundra has been good to me these past few weeks I've had it but I ran into an issue this morning. I drove the truck the 15 miles to drop the kid off and work with zero issues. All highway and surface roads. Pulled into the parking lot and work and as soon as I put it in park, my VSC OFF light and 4lo light start flashing. I tried putting it in 4lo but it beeps at me and won't engage 4x4 at all. I've read a few things about disconnecting the battery or inspecting the speed control sensors and harnesses on the wheels. Anyone had any issues like this. I've read that these lights go off as saying, "shits fucked" but I couldn't find if there was a specific combination of lights for other things. Haven't had a chance to dig in since I'm at work but I plan to as soon as I get off. No lose of power or any other issues I've noticed besides the lack of 4x4. Any help is appreciated.

Update: Disconnected the battery when I got home, inspected all the sensors behind all the wheels including the wire harness, no damage anywhere. Looked all inside the engine bay and underneath the truck at all the sensors. Didnt see anything I didnt like. Reconnected battery, everything went away. Including the CHECK ENGINE light I got a few days ago and Autozone diagnosed as the gas cap. Figured the seal wasnt good on the cap I had on there so invested in a new one, just hadnt installed it. We'll see how long it lasts.

Toytec boss kit at 3" in the front and 2 in the rear. 295 55r20 tires. Truck bed spare tire mount.
I had the same issue recently and replacing my starter completely fixed my problem. Took about 8 hrs total. Including gettin absolutely pissed off and raging a bit. But 4lo engages again and nothing lit up on the dash.

Had the same issue and mine was a bad ABS wire in the rear harness mounted on the rear axel that goes to the wheels. Of course it failed in the sub-zero weather and I had to live with the flashing lights for a few weeks before I could get underneath to fix it.

Just bought a 2010 limited and am finding similar issues, won't engage into 4L and anti-skid light doesn't turn off. Also, proximity sensors aren't working and doesn't seem to be and off button located near the steering wheel and dash?

If you try to switch into 4 Lo while the shifter is *not* in Park or Neutral you'll get the warning beep and flashing 4 Lo light. Also if you're in Neutral, but the wheels are still rolling.

You'll also get the warning beep if you try to switch between 2wd and 4 Hi while your speed is too high.

I can't remember if switching directly from 2wd to 4 Lo will do the same thing.

Try putting it in Park, turning the switch back to 2wd and turning the ignition off and back on to clear the issue.

If that doesn't work let us know and we'll dig deeper.
