Photo of my shell. Fit and finish is great as I would expect from snug top and my pup loves the extra room.

Had a Leer XL on my Tacoma, with Bedrug inside, but first going to try a BAK Revolver X2 tonneau cover and hauling the dogs inside the cab of the Tundra. I might be crazy, but not crazy about the looks of a shell on a CM with the short box. Time will tell...

Couldn't imagine living life without a topper. Leer topper w/ thule aero bars, decked truck bed system (only run one side of it), custom interior rod/ gun holders on the rails, strip led lights on pop switch so they turn on when the rear window opens

Did you make the rod holders? Those are nice.

The ones on the roof are made by Denver outfitters, they each hold 3 fly rods, inside the cab I have dual foam coated pvc pipes on fence post brackets being held down by the topper bolts

Pretty much anywhere with water! I cover Montana, Idaho and Wyoming for work so am constantly by water. I also spend a lot of time in BC, OR and WA chasing steelhead

Nice! I used to hit quite a few places in Wyo when I lived there. Still get up there a couple times a year, as I live just south of Flaming Gorge (great fishing in Utah too!).

Yep! pretty happy with it, the windows did start leaking last year and it was sent back to leer for replacement. Looks like they might be leaking again though.

Ive spent a lot of time on other unnamed sweet rivers and spring creeks in utah!

Wow some SWEET toppers posted!! Some are $5,000? Holy moly! Some advice I give my friends, when they are looking to buy a truck are #1) Toyota makes, by far, the best...Tacoma and Tundra...unless you need a diesel, of course #2) Pack on as many upgrades as you can afford else you'll spend the next # of years upgrading...upgrading...upgrading...

leeky windows doesn't sound too good. i have an a.r.e right now but nearest dealer is further away now and they don't off the removable front window which matches great with the tundras crewmax full roll down back window

My ARE topper has been great with no leaks. The front window is not removable but i believe all have the fold down option (mine does) and it's basically the same thing.

It's not the same.. fold it down it's in the way if carrying full bed of gear/dog... wish all companies did what snugtop does with the gas powered window that folds up and stays out of the way

Does anyone know if a topper from a 2nd gen will fit on a 3rd gen? There's one for $300 in CL in my area, but it's off a 2nd gen and I'd rather not fork over $2k for a new one...

If it was color matched would look good. Not my style but it would look good.

Still searching for the look and function that best fits my needs. I don't want it all the time though, and don't have a garage, would this be ok to store outside? Or should this wait until I have a place to store?

I had a 2004 Tacoma with a fiberglass tonneau - liked it. Bought a 2014 Tacoma Baja Series and installed a camper shell. Functional but I did not like it. I now have a 2017 Crewmax and I will probably install a tonneau cover. So much room in the cab I think I do not need a camper shell.

I have one, but then again, I'm an old guy.

    It is my fish truck.

When I go on spring and fall trips I use a propane heater and I stay very comfortable.

I will stay inside during cold mornings and make coffee while I'm waiting for it to warm up.

My next upgrade will be an always-on USB port mounted in the cabinet on the left.

This may be a stupid question, but here goes
Drove home my brand new tundra this past weekend. I’d like to get a topper, but I fear I will have a problem accessing the bed. Might I need to carry a small ladder or step stool to get in it? How do you access stuff in the bed with the topper on?

I’m a 5’6” little old lady. Well, maybe old, but the lady part is questionable.

And while I’m at it, one other question. What do you have on the floor of the bed? I didn’t have a liner installed. I want the topper so I can carry stuff from groceries to camera equipment. And perhaps my dobie and I may take a snooze there occasionally when we take long trips until I get a travel trailer, which is next on my list.

You could get one with access windows on the sides...they're even available with a small center screen portion for airflow when sleeping.
At 5'6" you may still need a step stool :) !

Yep. I think so. Or I may just buy a collapsible ladder that I can subsequently use for the travel trailer I plan to buy

I'm in the market for a topper myself. I'm debating between the ARE Overland and CX Classic or a Leer 100R.

Definitely need roof racks, side windoors and removable or fold down sliding front window. Do you guys consider the carpeted headliner a must have as well?

Definitely get the carpeted headliner. With as much as a new topper costs you might as well spend the few extra bucks on the headliner.
