Ok I have a project then. I will use the guide and do it the right way and report back. I think I was so excited to get it done and I should have researched the install more as it wasnt as obvious as it seemed.

    Oh one or two.
I installed my 1" shackles and bushings this afternoon we went a different route on the bushing removal as my Tacoma has no ball joints so I don't own a ball joint press. I pulled the leaf pack and pressed them out in the 100 ton press brake in about 3 seconds:cool: The whole job took 2 hours and that was 30min of trying to press out the bushings on the truck with a heavy duty clamp that didn't work.

Now for the ride wile the ride is smoother it does not completely get rid of bed bounce on the really rough roads. Now it is noticeably less on the rough spots and seams to smooth out sooner not as rhythmic . I took the lane I try and avoid on my way home wile bad it's less then it was so I'm happy with that.

If your trying to remove it completely just shackles is not going to do it and mind you I have KING 2.5's with the same valving as @jberry813 and our trucks ride pretty well as it is!

Tracker: after you get the shackles squared away, do this: disconnect the sway bar links or remove the sway bar and feel the difference. The TRD rear sway bar has stiffened the spring rate on my Pro, and now on a concrete freeway section I'm feeling some bed bounce that I didn't have before the sway bar install. I disconnected both links and back to a smooth ride. The sway bar actually does more than minimize body roll, it increases spring rate on the opposite side of the body lean, and that stiff spring rate makes for increased bed bounce. My solution: remove the sway bar.

    Joon,
Yeah, I guess, but after another cruise this afternoon the sway bar most definitely adds bounce that can now be felt inside. I'm going out in a few minutes to disconnect the RH link. If I get any rattle with it disconnected, it's coming off. The ride in the Pro is just too smooth to screw up with a sway bar. If I were towing a TT, then it serves a very good purpose. It may show up on Craigslist soon.

I have been stuck here for an hour. This thing will not budge any more. I tried numerous ways to get it out.

Ya I got pretty much the same one. The metal sleeve was caught up and the press was maxed out. I got it out with a punch. I am all done now and will test drive and report back in a few hours. I am excited for this to work :)

I can tell you right now it's not going get rid of it completely but the bushings do help a lot. If you replace your shocks that's going to help the most.

So I finally got a test drive in. I would say there is less bounce by the amount of 60-65%. There is still some bounce but not to the amount of the jarring I got before. The ride is still stiff of course but much better handling. I only got to go through the rough spot once and would like to try another round before my final verdict. I want to make sure the benefits have been confirmed. As of now I am happy with the performance and I think some upgraded shocks would really take care of whats left. I will post up after the confirmation ride.

Y'all must have the shattiest roads out that way. I drive 8 hours a week in my truck and as of the last week have been paying attention to most of those hours driving. Still no sign of any bed bounce. There are rough roads where the whole truck moves and does jar from my stiff coilovers, but none of the rapid bounce in the rear end like i had before before.

Shane, your bed moves up and down and sometimes jars, but are you getting that quick repeated bounce?

    Oh one or two.

It's roads and your speed. I only get it on some really rough spots at 70+ and slower and it doesn't happen. I'm pretty sure I have a lot less then most people. The guys saying they don't have bed bounce have just never seen the right conditions for it to happen. I would bet if every Tundra on the road took the same spot I get it at the speed it happens they will experience it as well.

You either know what bed bounce is or you don't. I am that guy saying I don't have bed bounce anymore, at least on the 480 miles of highway I drive every week. I had bed bounce on these roads before, at the same speeds I currently drive, and now I do not. I have stock rear suspension except for the shackles and bushings.

My +2 shackles are on. Tougher than I thought it would be. Can anyone else say they were able to do this:

    David,

I still have my +2" CB shackles I got last year stored in my garage! Just wondering if I would need to install the CB drop kit on the +2" shackles!

I just wonder if the drop kit would be necessary on the #2

    Any input thanks

    Michael
