Moonroof is one of the few things you can’t cleanly install on an SR5. Find one with that if you like them. Or if you like all the frills, maybe start with a Platinum.

Buck- Thanks for the reply. While I understand the Pro is different from the package, I think you pretty much hit it in the head. I'm focused on the alternative option you are describing above. Thanks again. Very helpful.

Thank you, Hectic. Really helpful comments. Not in a deal yet. I wanted the community's input first.

    Welcome from Westminster, CO!

Are you looking for input on buying a new truck or modifying one? What is your main reasoning for purchasing a Tundra? Happy to start shooting out suggestions based on what you're looking to do.

If you plan on modding the truck you probably do not need a ‘TRD’ model.

    Welcome!

Thank's Bailey. I welcome all input as a first time truck buyer/modder. Reasons behind purchasing the Tundra are purely recreational and to satisfy my long time dream to have a 4x4 truck. I'm thinking of a 3inch lift, larger tires/new wheels, probably de-chrome and change out the the grill to something custom. Really just been gathering ideas from pics throughout the internet.

@Toytec Lifts carries a variety of suspension systems from mild spacer lifts to full off-road ready setups. A spacer is good for looks, but isn't ideal if you plan on off-roading the truck. Toytec / Eibach have a nice replacement coilover as well as King or FOX if you really want some performance.

I'm running a 2" spacer and will eventually upgrade to FOX or this new company I've been researching. The spacer allows me to run a larger tire and get the front end off the ground. Definitely not a long term thing.

    Sure thing!

I got the 2017 5.7l with tow package SR5 crewmax and added leather and a tonneau cover from the dealer. I should have done the cover myself, but I’m glad I got the leather done (I’ve got 3 kids under the age of 6).

I put the progrille on and after market head & tail lights. I’m going to finish off the outside cosmetics with black powder coated bumpers and smoke the 3rd brake light. Going to put sway bar on. I’ll probably hold off on the lift for a while and likely do exhaust in the near future.

Wow looks awesome. Is that stock height (almost looks lifted)? When you say powder coat bumpers, will that remove the chrome completely? What's the paint color?

    Thanks!

Powder coat: think bed liner. It will cover the chrome. I was thinking of just replacing with plastic but prefer the durability of the steel that only comes with the chrome. It’s also the same price if not cheaper to powder coat and more durable than paint / vinayl wrap / plasti dip. I don’t want to be rewrapping or touching up plasti dip every few months from rock chips in the front. They’ve got different colors I think, but I’m just going to go with black. I think a solid color across the whole bumper looks better and black is kind of my accent color lol

Stock height. 20” rims and beefier than stock rubber (sorry, don’t remember the measurements) from the Gulf Coast regional “TSS off-road” package. That package included the nurf bars and all weather floor mats (which will be replaced with husky x-act contour). I added tint to the back 3 windows week before last. That’s about when I snapped this pic
