I wanted a leather steering wheel for my Tundra, but I didn’t want to wrap it. Several weeks back I saw a post about a Tacoma leather steering wheel swap and I knew that’s what I wanted to do. Executed the swap yesterday with the help of my cousin; it turned out perfect.

Looks great. Am I wrong noticing the buttons aren’t the same? I’ve been looking for one myself but the buttons don’t always match 100%.

From what I understand, the buttons carry over from the Tundra wheel; the Tacoma part is only the outer part of the wheel.

@charliebison where did you get the Taco wheel and how much was it if you dont mind my asking?

You are correct, the buttons swap over. All you use is the outer wheel. In terms of what years work, I have no idea. I used a 2017 Tacoma steering wheel I found at a salvage yard for $100. To buy it new would have cost me $550. Not cheap.

I don’t see why it would be an issue, you just slap your airbag on it and call it a day.

    No problem.
Unless of course the steering wheel it self got damage during impact, but other than that don’t see an issue.
