Just got the trd air flow accelerator, is there any certain way to install it in the stock box?
    TIA

Mine fit fine in the stock box. Its been a year since I installed it I think you have to unbolt the box but I honestly can't remember. The hardest part was getting it through the hole in the inner fender wall. Skip to 2:30 mark.

Did you put the opening of the accelerator through the hole in the inner fender?

Ok guys I just did the same thing last week. 2012 5.7 with stock box. I bought the TRD Air Accelerator and TRD filter. The way I did it was swapped them out through the fender. Must be tight and sealed properly not flapping around or open. Next clean the hell out of your throttle body while youre doing this. Then re attach your stock airbox and accordian tube to the throttle body. Yes its a tight fit but thats what will hold your box from moving. No you will not be able to get that bolt back in so dont even try. Box doesnt move so I am ok with this. Just my 2 cents. We probably saw the same video on youtube and he forgot to say stock box is too long , wont bolt back down because he said push it through the fender and let the AA flap around freely its ok. No that is wrong! If you do that it will suck hot air from the engine.

Edit: My reply has nothing to do with video posted above FYI. Not the person or video I was talking about.
    I will take pics later.

The TRD kit only comes with the top cover. The bottom part of the box is stock.

I had no problem getting the TRD accelerator into the fender. You just have to taco it a little bit. All the bolts line up on my stock box. Somebody’s doing something wrong. Unless previous model (2nd gen) boxes are different.
To attach it to the box itself, it just snaps on, there is a little tab.

No mine is all stock, all I did was add the AFA and drop in TRD filter. As said earlier the TRD CAI still utilizes the stock lower box.

It's the same as mine so all you have to do is squeeze it to make it smaller and then push it in pass that bump and it should be fine. Basically the bump has to be inside the fender.

Yea but the video I posted is a 2nd Gen I really don't think there's a difference under the hood. The AFA is a bear to squeeze through the hole on the fender well but I think if you work with it that it will fit fine. I'll try to remember to take a picture of mine tomorrow although nk1794 as already done so on his 3rd Gen..

Yep, push that "bump" into the fender and problem should be solved. @Rica25, can you physically see the "bump" if so squeeze the AFE some more until it goes through the opening in the inner fender. Once that bump is through the hole you will be able to move the box to its original position.

Completed install, very easy yes you have to push the bump throght the inner fender hole then everything fits fine.
Could be me but it does seem to have slight better throttle response. :burnrubber:

So is it worth it putting the accelerator in ? Or will just the airfliter do? Or leave it as is ? I have the TRD dual exhaust and don’t need the sound. I’m looking for MPG and power ? Any help would be appreciated !!
