Finally getting around to getting a sound bar, but I have no clue about them, other than some quick internet research on what the different channel numbers mean. I am not looking to go fancy or spend much more than $200. The bar will be going on a tv that is in a “open/great room”, but not all that large (about 730 sq ft, but it’s a tri-level so it’s open to two sets of stairs, if that mattes). The link below is the one I am thinking about getting, any suggestions/opinions? Thanks in advance

Yup, I got the same one I am sure. I think it was around $ 149.00? It's awesome, and has great bass. I use it for my 55in. mounted outside during football season, Nascar, etc and am completely satisfied. Whenever I have company they are always impressed.

I got a Samsung a while back, think if you go with same brand as TV or DVD could make things simpler.

Thank you for the info. Costco is currently having a sale on a Samsung one that I may check out.

In some reviews I read, including for the Samsung one above, people have had issues with their neighbors accidents connecting to it via Bluetooth, has any had that issue? And are there any out there that have a secure Bluetooth connection? I live in the suburbs (around 1/4 acre lots) so I have a few neighbors close by

    Figures I should update this.

Went with the Yamaha YAS-207 soundbar. I’m pretty happy with it, but still need to figure out how to sync it up with my TV remote so it turns one with the Tv

If you don’t mind having one without Bluetooth I highly suggest finding a used Bose Cinemate 1 SR. I have 3 sound bars including a $750 Sony and a cheaper Samsung and my Bose blows both out of the water. It’s not a current model so used is the only way to get one. It’s original price was roughly $1700 But can be found used for $250ish. It’s a surround sound bar and really does an amazing job and throwing sounds around the entire room. Find yourself one and you will not be disappointed.

I have found that the room you will be putting it in is the biggest factor in sound quality. I have a $2000 Bose in the 600 sqft open living room that sounds good but the $150 LG in the corner of the 400 sqft enclosed den sounds awesome.

I bought a cheapo Samsung soundbar on black Friday a few years back. It's nothing special but it does the trick! Controlling it with an app is pretty neat.

I’m disappointed I hadn’t got one sooner. Other than just the overall sound quality being better, I no longer have to adjust the volume non-stop between turning up to heat the words, then turning it back down so I don’t wake up my kids.

It may have been a sales pitch, but the sales associate I talked to made the point that Bose, Yamaha, etc... make speakers while Samsung, LG, etc... make TVs; so who would u rather buy speakers from. That being said, I tested soundbars from multiple manufacturers that sounded good, but the price vs quality seemed better from the ‘speaker makers’.

I got the yahmaha from Costco and the Samsung from Best Buy. The Yamaha is hands down better sounding.
