I'm looking at two options. I need to hall kayaks and pull my travel trailer.

#1 Yakima outdoorsman with an additional baseline roof rack. I believe this system would allow me to get the kayaks further over the cab. Leaving me more space between the camper and kayaks.

Or #2 the Rola ladder rack system. This system has less parts and is about $100 cheaper. I'm afraid with a 12 ft kayak I still may be to far back to pull the travel trailer.

Note: I need to leave may hitch open for the trailer, so going with some type of goal post system isn't going to work.

I have a Thule xsporter, not impressed for the money, too many little parts break and with kayaks it tends to move around a lot. Saw the Yakima mounted to a bed and it was really impressive how tight it was. However I use a Yakima roof rack on my truck and the plastic covering the crossbars split. Really want a custom bedrack made.

I just went through the same dilemma. I ended up buying the U.S.Rack paddlers rack. I use it to haul my stand up paddle boards and surfboards but you can get the kayak attachment with the paddlers rack. You can get it two ways, with clamps that will fit in your truck bed track rail system or without these particular clamps if you don't have the sliding rails. It was an easy install and they are heavy duty. I emailed thule about the xt 500 rack and they emailed me back and said they weren't going to make one that had an adapter for the sliding rail system because they didn't feel that enough tundras were sold as opposed to Tacoma's which they made an adapter for. I paid 399.00 and got it in about 8 days even though they told me it may be about two weeks. So if you need a rack that works with those tie down rails this is the best and maybe only option I could find. Go to U.S.Racks website. Forgot to mention one of my sup's is 14' long and I carry it way forward with no problem. Semper Fi.

For anyone interested this is the paddlers rack and a photo of the sliding clamp in the bed rail system. When I emailed thule they said I would have to remove my rails for their rack. I didn't want to give up my tie downs, so this rack worked great.

Been looking at US Rack Paddlers Rack. Will be hauling two 10' Kayaks and towing a travel trailer.

Have bed rail system on the Tundra. Looks like a fast job installing/removing the Paddler's Rack on the OEM bed rails?

I don't have any experience with it but the rack from Harbor Freight looks like it will do what you need it to. It extends all the way over the cab. Not the prettiest thing out there but it looks practical.

Yeah, rideandfly comes with good instructions and I think there might be a install video on U.S. Racks site. Probably took about 45 min. I like the fact that I can slide the rack back and forth and I could remove the the post and leave the base in about 5 mins if need be.

    Looks good.

Hey if you can't get those Kayaks up there, you don't deserve to be kayaking. :ohsnap:
