They should be here Tuesday!!! Interesting to see how this will turn out and look!!

The truck is rubbing on the front tires (this is when I had just gotten the new fronts put on, tire shop said they had 5 tires, then could only find 2, back two were installed the next day). I also have new outer tie rods to install. Loads of fun here shortly. Any locals want to help??

I'm waiting on FedEx Home Delivery right now. They need to hurry up!!!

UPDATE: apparently they "attempted" to deliver my parts. No door tag, no knock, no doorbell. Never set the dog off. Now i'm waiting until tomorrow. A*&Ho$%es!!!! I've been home since 5pm CST. They attempted delivery at 8:05pm.

They "finally" showed up at 630 this evening. CrapEx was a goat rope on this one. Now to watch videos/read instructions and get ready!!!

Ah!!! The coilovers appear to be pretty straight forward, AND they're preassembled! Maybe an hour tops. Its the add-a-leaf in the rear I've never dealt with. When I did my lift-kit for my Jeep I just did replacement spring packs.

I haven't changed one out, and I'm not in your time zone so I know I'm not close enough to offer much help.

I'm sure you will be able to tackle it!

Alright folks here it is!! The great lift install!! Or at least my valiant attempt! Was wide awake at 430 this morning, so I said well, i'm up, might as well get a jump start on my morning, and headed to the shop. Here is the requisite "before" picture as she sits with 210,800 and change miles. All stock (and from what I'm looking at and probably guessing ORIGINAL) suspension.7Z8mzdMYSFizY%yJpccyJA.jpg
    UdvUIpzjQTqNZBKc8NZ+Cg.jpg

All new and shiny in the box. I bought the AAL for the rear as well. Not pictured.
    uOUcYGVDRcCyuvo8asVE1A.jpg

Hey! Youtube video really is a breeze! 19mm bolt and 3 14mm nuts and the whole assembly does pop out!
    hlnHgww1RTu4EA+Y1LbWuw.jpg
New assembly in and top end mounted. Took me a few turns to get the correct orientation so the bottom part of the strut will align properly for the shock mount.
    AnaINwMkTMCKqo68HYS6pw.jpg

I'm sooooo close!!!! I tried and tried for 2 hours for no avail. Texted a buddy, he asked if I had disconnected my sway bar link. "No....." Hey! That worked! (Oh yeah, and you have to disconnect your steering knuckle assembly from the truck too if you are doing this alone and dont have enough mass in your a*s to push the LCA down and get your bolt back through.
    2hKEEbehQlefqhj7n75TZw.jpg
Yay!!! One side done!! I managed that before work started this morning. Since we didn't really have anything going, I pulled the truck back in the shop and repeated the drivers side.

    Old vs. New.
    pq0ksbZqS2mSLsCgABX+DQ.jpg 7vLiC7qvSemevaNIg3TQyw.jpg
Looking all spiffy with the front even with the backend and no AAL!!! At this time I'm not going to install the AAL.
    ZHPLDiVkS%6rm%TVPCTcJQ.jpg UmGwnRycRVmM+JBMrWhCIg.jpg
Since my doofus self likes to do things twice (disassembly and reassembly) after work I headed BACK to the shop to install new outer tie rods. They're pretty self explanatory on how to install. I do believe my old ones were shot. What do you think? Good for another 100k?

    New parts!!

Truck goes in first thing in the morning for an alignment. New upper and lower ball joints will be here next Wednesday. Yay!. More disassembly and reassembly!

Great job! The truck looks great AND you did it, that's the best part.

Reading through threads that show progression that is DIY is just as much fun as doing it on your own truck. I’ll be looking into getting new coilovers for mine this summer. Also, where did you get your window deflectors? what brand are they?

Pretty certain they are EGR in-channel. Same with the bug deflector. I've always had great luck with them. Got them from Auto Anything. Folks there have fantastic customer service.

Thank you and yes they are! They've really firmed up the ride and made it better just in the little bit I've driven it. Got the alignment done this morning, and that helped even more.

    Looks good!

The add a leafs aren't bad to install especially if you have a grinder
    disconnect the shocks
    cut the u bolts
cut the spring retainers (if necessary)
    cut the center pin
install the leaf and new center pin
bolt on the new spring retainers
put the new u bolts on

We didnt have tall enough jack stands....or a lift to put the truck on LOL. Plus now my truck sits level, which makes me happy. It doesn't have that nose-dive look.

Thanks! I'll be tackling upper and lower ball joints next. Then sway bar links. After doing this, I took a good look at the front end and realized it's pretty well worn out after 210k and change. Ol' boy needs some TLC.

I'm honestly debating on whether or not its worth it just to replace the upper control arms, or do a bushing kit for the upper and lowers. Probably just easier to do the bushings. Only crappy thing is OEM bushings just for the bottom are 60 bucks each.

Understandable I had to get creative with some 2x12 blocking to get the jack stands high enough.

I did chuckle a little “maybe an hour tops”....every time I say that very thing, 5 hours, 5 beers, and no less than 12 F bombs later. Lol

Kudos on tackling this and other maintenance items yourself. Good for another 100k.

I wish I could drink while tackling that at the shop!!! Unfortunately if I do it at work, its on school property, which is an alcohol free campus.
