I currently have the 2.5 inch leveling kit by RC and nothing in the rear. The shop will buy it back if I upgrade to the 3.5 in bolt on lift kit by RC. My plan is to upgrade suspension next year but in the meantime......do I add the front shims to give me 3 inches in the front and add a 1 inch block in back or sell back the leveling kit and go with the 3.5 in bolt on kit???? This is the kit. Please help guys!

Looks to me like you’re just exchanging a 2.5” block for a 3.5”, unless I’m missing something. I’d say save up for a suspension lift and then just sell the leveling kit private.

Wait, so you put on a lift you aren’t happy with, now you are going to put on another lift you wont be happy with??

What is it you are ultimately looking to do suspension-wise? Like what size lift?

Curious as to why RC over something else? Also, you could just upgrade your spacer to desired lift instead of shims.

Some Mods :) See build thread for details
My recommendation is to stay away from top spacers. Check out Toytec lifts. Toytec Boss full suspension lift is one of the best for the price.

My plan is to go with the boss system by toytech but rather spend my money on wheels first. @Pale_Horse, I’m not unhappy with what I have now just wanted something a little higher and would only have to spend 300 now rather that 1300 plus. The only reason I would do RC is because that is what the shop I use recommends. So I take it y’all would recommend waiting to change anything until I could get the toytech?

Ultimately I would like a 6in but that ain’t happening with 2 toddlers so I will settle for 3.5-4 inch. If possible I don’t want to do anything irreversible IF possible.

Gotcha. I am really not familiar at all with the rough country lifts or 6” lifts for that matter. So I don’t think I can help you too much with that.

I would say do what you want. If getting the truck 1” higher for now is worth the $300 then go for it. But trust me if 6” lift is what you want with the big wide wheels that sit way outside the fenders, you likely will not be happy with anything else less than that in the meantime...
