So, I have the TRD Pro skid plate and like the title says it creaks. I removed it to make sure nothing else was making noise and it looks like the skid plate is the only culprit.

Now my problem: I have an aftermarket bumper that mounts to the tow hook bolts. Since the skid plate mounts on top of the bumper mount, this means that the skid plate essentially has a 3/16" spacer at that mounting point only. If I do the rubber and nylon repair to stop the creaking, is it going to work with this setup? My other options are to add spacers to all the other mounting points or buy another skid plate (like RCI) and sell this one. Anyone have experience with this problem?

Since it did not seem like anyone had an answer for me, I decided to just reinstall my PRO skid plate. I cleaned all the mating surfaces, touched up worn spots on skid plate with spray bed liner, used flexseal rubber tape and rubber washers (could not find nylon) to separate mating surfaces. I also decided to grease all contact spots and I tightened the bolts from the inside out doing the rear and tow hook bolts last. FYI I removed my tow hooks because with the bumper, skid plate and tow hooks all stacked up, the bolts are a little short.

About 18 months ago I added nylon washers from Ace Hardware under all of my fasteners. That solve the problem for me completely.

Anyone have a list of the nylon washers needed? Number and size?
Installing the new skid today and want to do it right the first time.
    Thanks!
