2018 LED headlights install on 2015 platinum

So it's about to go down. Got my headlights from @Erichudgins yesterday and my harness from @iHacker today and i couldnt be happier with these two guys. A+++ rating for both. This harness quality is beyond what I expected, well beyond. I'm heading out now to put them on and I'll take some pics as I go. Wish me luck!

These are "sport smoked" 18 headlights. Instead of a chrome bezel it's smoked chrome. Not a huge difference from the chrome but slightly darker. I head Toyota will be doing "black" soon, presumably for the 19 PRO

Some pics show the darker color due to less reflections. Definetly darker than chrome.
The inner parts of the lights are dark in color, smokes, gray, black. So overall all the 18 led headlights are darker than previous generations, even look darker overall compared to the 3rd gen pro lights

First step will be to remove the grill!

Grille off without incident. Had an idea how to do this from when I put on my pro grille. 4 bolts, 2 retainer pins on top, 2 clips down low one of which I previously broke lol. Then it pulls right off.
I did a quick spray detail wax on bumper lip since it was dirty and accessible.

Next is trim under headlights

 

Two push pins and 2 bolts in fender well. You gotta pull harder than you think but nothing will break. Yank off the panels

More spray wax in area and some black pray paint in a few parts behind grille.

 

Remove headlight
Two bolts up top, one one the side. And then you need to lift up a bit in the top mount tabs and also lift slightly to release from a little sliding tab below. Put a towel on bumper area to rest the light on while you unplug all the connectors

 

Next is to remember to disconnect battery ground. Lol. This should be done 1st but I just remembered.

 

Also set your motocontrol at 0!

 

Now start connecting your harness from @iHacker, it's self explanatory and very easy to figure out.
This would also be time to swap the marker light bulb or blinker bulb if you plan to go full LED. I just swapped the side marker with a hikari 194 bulb I had sitting around.

Reinstall lights in opposite order you took the old one off. It slid in very easily and I tucked the wires in behind without issues.

Reattach ground and test light functions

Live install feed still going. Will do other light now and pics when grill back on

 

Done. That couldn't have gone better or been more simple. Given I have the platinum which requires a little less work as far as wires. It was a super easy mod and damn do these lights look good. Can't wait for it to get dark out so I can take a drive

 

DRL automatically dims if you have a Platinum and ihacker harness is compatible with this feature, pretty cool.
Pics don't do it justice, it looks so good.
Also DRL LED's don't photograph well when tbey are dim, it's weird but trust me they're all on and look great
I have 3k yellow nokian halogen fog bulbs. That may change soon.

 

This really makes my front end look so much better. From the day I put on my pro grille I have been dying to rid of the chrome headlights. I stumbled upon this deal and ran with it. Not only does it look better, the function will be greatly improved over the OEM 2015 headlights. I swapped bulbs many times trying to get brighter and whiter light to no avail. The output was just terrible and I can't wait to try these out.

 

I loved the LED strip on my old light but now those don't even compare

Like I said I got the cash already in hand I'm just waiting to see those 2019 TRD Pro headlights

 

My Guess is they will be black where these are smoked chrome. But a few other features would be cool too
