Spokane area has good whitetail and Roosevelt elk. Can get branch antlered around there, certain GMU's. Here in SE Washington in the Blue mountains we have the Rocky mountain elk. Spike only. Special draw for cow/antlerless and branch antler. A few GMU's with antlerless archery units. Sucks waiting for that draw, but it helps the herds and increases your chances of a branched bull when drawn.

Im curious, do you use samuelson? Hes a popular guide in that area.

We camped near troublesome creek (i think) when we used to go there.

My buddy shot a nice muley there that had a tracking collar. Fish and game service traded it for a replica for his mount.

Technically no...But you can use straight wall rifle cartridges during shotgun. .50 Beo AR's are pretty devastating with an EOTech.

We do go thru Samuelson. We've gotten to know Richard and his crew pretty well. He's got a good outfit and a good area in the Troublesome basin. We've had good luck in that area too. Since '04 we've only been skunked one year, in 2016, the weather was lousy the entire season. 2015 was our best 3 bull season, all 3 over 300 inches.

I miss hunting that area, especially with the horses. We've been hunting private land close to Rifle since.

Mine was tied to a fence from october till a month ago. I used a pressure washer to get it to its current state. I still need to whiten it.

Not giving it a thought, I tied my first one to a cottonwood at the back of my yard. The squirrels chewed the hell out of the tips of the tines and the skull. I put them on the roof now lol.
