Nice work Sean. I bet it looks great. And great pics of the 2 bucket method. I'm planning on doing my truck in the next couple weeks. Wash, ironX, clay (I got that nanoskin clay mitt so I'm exited for that), wash, carpro eraser (ipa cleaner), waxxadict on plastic then going with carpro hydro2 or reload, not sure yet, as the sealant. I'm tempted to use that Adams sealant as I've heard great things, but already have the carpro stuff.
Once I get my 18 headlights on I'm sure I'll be itching to get the detail done. I can't wait to see how nice my blue paint can look. I've clayed two cars in the past and it's always been the difference maker. Im even tempted to give it a wax after the sealant for that deep wet gloss look but I doubt I'll have time. As it is it'll probably be a 2 day project like yours was.

2 buckets, both with grit guards if possible. One has soap and water. One just water, I use warm. You dip mitt in soap and wash car panel. Then dunk it and agitate it in the water bucket, back to soap, car, water, soap, car, water.... this gets most of the dirt and junk into the water bucket so every time you wipe the car it's clean soapy water

Lol sorry man. I skipped right over this :-(

Yep. Wipe one panel at a time and rinse in the dirty bucket. Use the grit guard (optional) to rub the mitt on to remove any debris. Without the 2 bucket method you’re basically reapplying some of that dirt back onto the truck.

If it’s like Adams IronX be really careful so it doesn’t spill and get onto areas it’s not supposed to.

I made mine a 2 day project as I didn’t have much to do last night and today. If I really wanted to mix it up I could have used the foam cannon and then the two bucket followed by the other steps I listed. I chose not to as I used the foam cannon last week, and it wasn’t necessary.

The sealant certainly helped a ton! The wax I used is just an extra layer that is truly wipe on, dry, wipe off. Think of it like this - sealant almost acts like a protective layer around the vehicle. A wax, such as Carnauba goes into the paint to help give it more of a shine on top of just a wax.
The analogy, “double bag it” comes to mind :anonymous:
