New to this site so I'm not sure if there is already a forum regarding this topic. I'm interested in buying a Tundra. Does anyone know why they will not make a crewmax with the longer 6.5' bed?

welcome to the site. Probably because that would require a whole new frame... too costly for Toyota. I'm not sure why they don't just put the crewmax onto the long bed frame and make a 7' bed.

Thanks. Really like the crewmax with that double cab but the 5.5' bed is to short. Think they will change that in the near future?

Toyota really should, they would probably sell like hotcakes... but I doubt they will anytime soon. I really like the space of a crewmax but for me having the 6.5' bed was more important. But the doublecabs aren't that small neither, they have plenty of space for my 2 kids. But I really wish I had the full roll down back window that's on the crews.

yep bank account is running low from it..
    One word (DEMAND).

No point in r@d a longer bed if you can't sell x amount to cover costs of retool.

Yes, a crew max with a 6.5' bed, wouldn't that be nice. Any shorter on the bed than 6.5' and it would drive me crazy, 8' boards just not as secure back there. However, my DC seats 4 adults just fine, and its really roomy with the kids in back.
