I should get together kits from HD for a few $ and sell them for 4 times the price.

I do like how the lock holder will just fit through the hole without notching it like i did. The problem is it looks very weak and can be broken into easier than cutting the lock.

I want to do this but afraid it will draw attention and maybe thieves will try and steal the whole thing and in doing so ruin my bed rail track.

@T-Rex266 Did you ever get it figured out??

I really dig the eye bolt for the lock. Never would have thought of that and I’m going to have to do something along those lines for my locking boxes

Genius, sheer genius! Anyone know what hardware InfernoToyo is using? I read there were some slight mods that need to be made when addressing the lid issue.

Those that have done this, have you had any issues over time with the can cracking from vibrations? I drive lots of washboard gravel. I’m thinking as pong as there isn’t much weight in the can it should survive okay?

I wouldn’t think so either, but the way they are attached is likely putting a lot of vibrational stress in the upper 1/3 of the can, with weight in the bottom.

Roger. Just eyeballing this setup, are there any clearance issues with a topper? Doesn’t look like there would be.
