I'm a mix guy, 1/2 and 1/2 diet coke and Wild Turkey 101. If I'm feeling neat I choose Buffalo Trace or Weller, I keep on hand some Blanton's as well. I serve guests Eagle Rare or Woodford Reserve. Weller has become ridiculously hard to find since it won some major awards as a wheated bourbon (much like Makers Mark). If you see the aged versions pick up a bottle, you will probably love it.

Personally I wasn’t a fan of the four roses. Good thing it was a given to me as a gift. Lol

Maybe I’m getting spoiled with some of my higher end Whiskey and Boubons now. It just wasn’t good for me personally.

Ok having had all of the above, I vote on the Pappy 15 (my favorite) GTS is really good as well. you are missing a WLW from that bunch. This years is the bomb

I've heard the 15 is the best of the Pappys and WLW the best of the BTACs. The bottles here typically get grossly marked up or allocated straight to restaurants and bars.

Most of that is from pre 2013, but you're absolutely right...Pappy 15 is really the only worth the money. George T is still my favorite of any of it, but truth be told I would rather drink Evan Williams Single Barrel all day long and have cash left in my pocket. Or if you want super cheap...Old Ezra 7 year is killer for less than $20.

I agree with the EW Single Barrel. Very Old Barton at $11.95 bottle (NC prices) is a great pour for the money. I prefer wheated so the bulk of my stock is Antique 107, Weller Special Reserve, and Weller 12, ORVW. I tend to enjoy anything from the Buffalo trace Distillery and have a hard of Hancock's Presidential Reserve, Elmer T Lee, EH Taylor small batch and Eagle rare 10. when the BTAC's came out last year I was fortunate enough to walk in a store as they unleaded and het three of each of WLW and GTS. Got one Handy but since I am not a rye lover traded it for several Weller 12's.[/QUOTE]

    Getting there
I'm a Maker's Mark guy myself. Knob Creek is a very close second, I do have a bottle of the Angels Envy, and that's quite tasty too. I also have a bottle of the Crown Royal rye that I'm fond of. I really want to try the Buffalo Trace, it's on my list.

I cracked open one of my bunkered bottles of Stagg Jr. tonight. Very dangerous. I'm buying a case to hoard next time it's released!

I'd check the local Costco for the 14 yr old Lagavulin around $70

they haven't done the 14 in quite some time I believe. If you mean the 16, I have that one and it's much easier to find (and most argue inferior) to the 12.

I agree with Eagle Rare and Blantons, Buffalo Trace is my favorite cheaper whiskey. Blantons is supposed to be the best whiskey, but its got a little too much bite to be my favorite. I prefer the slightly smoother and way cheaper Eagle Rare. They are all made at the same Buffalo Trace distillery too :)

Bookers is good stuff, unfortunately it’s kinda hard to find where I am. A good one I recently bought a bottle of is Leadslingers, not quite as harsh of an ending on it.
