I either use a specific wheel cleaner for my type of wheels or I wash them with regular car soap and a gentle brush or microfiber mitt specifically for my wheels. I treat them the same way I treat paint on my truck. Some wheel cleaners are only for chrome or aluminum. You need to read the side to make sure it is for your type of finish. You can etch them with the wrong stuff.

Try CG decon and diablo. After clean and dry, apply their spray carnauba wax as you would on paint.

I just cleaned my 4runner wheele this way and they look new, didn't snap any pictures though. I will when I get home.

Wish I had before pics! These haven't been topcoated or waxed yet, but they were oxidized and dirty with tons of mud, dirt, and brake dust prior to washing. Took a lot of scrubbing to get them back here.

Did you use a chemical wheel cleaner on these wheels before?? Use the wrong product, it will fuck up the finish on your wheels. That's why I always use car wash soap/water and a yellow bug scrubber type of sponge along with a paint brush on my wheels.

I did use chrome wheel cleaner on my old Cadillac that had basket wire wheels(not wire hubcaps, real deal wire wheels). That was some pretty nasty stuff, I had to use it unless I wanted to spend the next hour on each wheel with brushes and pipe cleaners trying to clean them. If you used that stuff on a clear coated or painted aluminum wheel, it would destroy the finish on that type of wheel.

Yesterday i just thought, i use the 303 aerospace protectant o my tires and black trim and inside so let me try it on these dang wheels. So i put it on the black part and it worked pretty good. It even made the silver part not look as bad as it was. So i will clean them with reg soap like the truck wash then i will use the 303. I have always loved the 303!!
