Pulled the stock JBL entune amp and the JL Fix86 out and installed the Rockford Fosgate DSR1. I did all the firmware updates prior to install and used the idatalink t-harness so it was truly plug and play with the factory harnesses. I reset the gains on both amplifiers, the JL RD amp has a clipping light and the JL HD amp I used a multi meter to set for proper voltage per the table JL has on their website. Also replaced the fix86 remote with a bass remote to the HD amp. I have not gone thru the tuning of the DSR1 yet because neither my S8+ phone or my Samsung tablet will connect to the unit, so I have to look more into that.

First impressions without tuning, just the flatened signal, is there is more volume range, the faint hiss I was having with the factory amp is all but gone. I have to turn the volume above 50 and pause the music to have any hiss now, where it was at 20 with the factory amp and fix86. I also have the amps set for low input now, where I had them set for high input before. At low input I am able to reach the recommended output voltage for the JL speaker ohm rating. I set all the gains while at 3/4 volume and used 50 hz and 1000hz sinwave tracks from the JL Fix disc. The system is much louder now while still very clear and clean. I played several songs to test the different acoustical ranges of the speakers while having the volume set between 45 and 50 and the bass knob set around 60%. I am much happier with theperformance of my system now that the factory JBL amp is removed.

Installed 6 more lights and a 2nd controller, have 2 more lights to install. When complete I will have 24 RGBW lights. I can control the driver and passenger sides independently if I want. 20180519_211355.jpg 20180519_211501.jpg

Took the camper to Fredericksburg this past weekend for a yearly crawfish broil a friend has been doing for 9 years now. As always, he cooked 3 bags of crawfish and 3 different intensities - mild, medium, and hot.
I adjusted the WDH a little bit and it seemed to help. The rear of the truck was not bouncing as much and was overall a lot smoother of a drive. Ultimately I will add some airbags to the rear.

Here are some screen shots from the Rockford Fostgate DSR1. All is controlled from an app on my phone. I have really on imputed the timing settings, but I need to reduce them as I I inputted the wrong distances in the wrong boxes the other night.

Thanks! Trailer is just under 6k empty, probably 7k with all our stuff. I have an Equalizer weight distribution hitch which helps a lot with the squatting. I plan to add airbags one day

Truck build will be very slow for a while. Have a few inexpensive aesthetic items upcoming but an upcoming baby boy will be taking all truck mod funds for a while. And yes that is the baby's penis in the box!

For the last 5 weeks I have been in San Diego due to our son coming 10 weeks early while on a 3 day vacstion. We have really enjoyed the weather and scenery and made several friend. Got to ride in a long travel tundra last week doing 40mph on roads my truck would maybe be doing 10mph.

Bought a new set of P&P Engineering rock sliders off of @4x4_Angel to replace my chrome running boards. Was disappointed I could not do the one obstacle in California because I did not have sliders and did not want to rip the running boards off my truck. I had to remove and relocate the 6 rock lights I had on the bottom of the running boards. I gained over 2.5" of ground clearance with the sliders. I installed them by myself, about 4 hours total including the rock light relocation and removal of the old. Yes I installed the driver side at midnight one night, I was wired on coffee and it was not raining. Did the passenger side the next day in drizzle.

Stock for now, but have TRD Rear Sway bar for it.
Sick, just what we are looking for approximately. How does it pull it and handle the weight?

It does well, don't expect to be doing 75mph while pulling, not safe anyways. We have taken it out to the Texas hill country a few times and it has done well, on the steeper inclines I do loose some speed. With my larger tires and weight of the camper I average just under 8 mpg towing, normally average 13.5 mpg.
I would recommend a good brake controller and a way to monitor fluid temps - I have a P3 controller and the Edge CTS2 display

    November 25th
Greased my drive shaft and UCA's since it had been way too long
Removed the front sway bar to see how the truck felt, 3 weeks later I am liking the ride. There is a little body roll when cornering quickly, but nothing crazy or concerning. There is less bounce in the front when hitting speed bumps from an angle at 20 mph, I assume the Icons are able to cycle a little more now to absorb the bumps

Where did you pick these up from?.... and how much drone/noise do you get in the cab?
I don't need to ask how they sound cause I imagine they are amazing when you get on it.!

Keith at @dirtydeeds made the bolt on dumps for me. He also made the cat-back exhuast. Since i went with the mild system, because i knew i would eventually be towing a travel trailer and i am past the days of an obnoxious exhaust, i do not have any drone in the cab. I can hear the exhaust when i punch but daily driving i barely hear it. Note i have fully dynamatted my truck and that helps with blocking sound a little bit. Give Keith a call, he is extremely helpful and will ask you a ton of questions on how you want your exhaust to sound.

Finished up vinyl wrapping the piece around the shifter this evening. I did the cup holder a week or 2 ago. Need to paint the chrome accent arround the shifter still and eventually get the black TRD shifter handle
