So I was inspired by another Tundra owner here. Jerseytuundra1260 thanks I put in the new Spyder lights, super easy and 100% plug and play. I may make some changes later like LED’s in the lows and DRL’s but right now pretty happy, still need to adjust them some as they are not perfect. Will need to setup the grille lights also, trying to decide between a switched circuit or tap into the parking lights. Still need to install the BAk X4 and get some new Fogs. New Stereo already in.

So I was looking at the Spyder LED headlights on eBay. They are $235. I noticed the DT Moto LED headlights at $198. When I looked even closer, they’re the same damn headlight! At least in the pictures. Every picture is the exact same as the the photos for the Spyder headlights. Do I save the extra money and hope they’re the exact same or pay a bit more for the better known name? FC8AC07A-5559-4129-B603-4847FA6CD55E.jpgC1AEDB7D-B364-4179-AE32-28BDBF1988E4.jpg

Yeh so they all sell them under their own brand name but yes they “should” be the same. Personally Im not a huge fan of buying off eBay anymore but some folks do. I will always look at Amazon and the car parts sites first like real trucks or carid. I not saying eBay is bad overall but I have had a few strange experiences over the last couple years. But the place I bought mine was on Amazon called Akkon.

BTW the ones you have pictured here are the V1 lights, the light bar is different. I would review them here at Tundras, some folks were not as happy with the light bar as those of us that got the V2’s. If they are seeking that cheap they are probably V1’s.

Didn’t notice the tow hooks, shit man we are going to be twins, I do like the led’s Below your lights also.

So I still gotta adjust the headlights some....they are bitch to adjust

I need to consider LED bulbs for the headlights, LED’s for the Fogs also.

Still waiting on Spyder to release the new tail lights you teased me with.

Started to install my Bak X4 yesterday but somehow they packed two different rails into the box...I mean really?????

I actually still have not adjusted my headlights yet. And I still have not installed my hid kit as well..... Or my Rigid Radiance amber 30 in light bar on my Nfab bar.... Sucks about the different parts.... That dude must of been hung over  Now I need to sell my old color matched grille, Brand new 20 in Rigid Radiance amber backlit light bar, Nfab stainless chrome nerf bars and I will be happy. Just finally sold my other retrofit Spyders. Took a hit on them.... Ouch

After reading the above posts I started reading reviews of Spyder Headlights; they are very much mixed.

People say they are very hard to adjust, fitment isn't that great, and lights are actually not very bright.

Is it pretty normal to replace the bulbs that come with Spyder units with other aftermarket LED Bulbs?

I really don't care too much about appearances. I just want better performance over my stock halogen bulbs.

Should I just buy some aftermarket LED bulbs and switch them for the halogen bulbs?

Well my experience is pretty good with them, fit and finish is pretty dam good imho

All headlights suck to adjust manually

I don’t have any problems with the stock h1 bulbs but you can put in $40 super whites or led or hid, its a personal preference

One thing, going from stock lights to a projector takes some getting used to. Stock lights project a larger area of light.

Also be careful about reviews, most folks that post a review do it becuase they are unhappy and typically you won’t see the thousands of happy customers posting becuase they are happy, happy folks don’t look for places to bitch

I think many folks have had good luck with the spyders. They wouldn’t be in business otherwise

Let us know how it goes

Just got the grille lights working alsoFF94A65A-490C-4A14-838F-452DF9C87D04.jpg

    Thank you for your response.

I might just try substituting LED bulbs for my halogen bulbs, but I'm not sure yet.

I like the look of the one I posted much better than the V2. It’s all in the eye of the beholder.
