    Hello All,
First time poster. I purchased a Lund Revolution bull bar for my Tundra. A plus with the bull bar was that it came with an LED light bar. I was a bit concerned until I saw the wiring harness and relay with fuse which put me at ease. Unfortunately the switch for the bar was a bit basic... just a toggle switch that you is taped to the dash with 3M adhesive tape. I purchased a lighted push button from MIC Tuning. Pretty awesome as it fits OEM spaces and has two blue LEDS within to light it with all other switches in the vehicle as well as become brighter when switch is engaged in the on position.

The issue: wiring for MIC TUNING push button:upload_2017-8-11_20-17-54.jpg
And the wiring from the LED relay:
    upload_2017-8-11_20-19-2.jpg

I connected the grounds, connected RED 1 to the trigger wire (blue) and connected red 2 to the positive (white) wire. When car is on, the switch lights up. However, pressing the switch does nothing.

I also want to verify that since the Lund wiring harness already has a relay and fuse, the green wire is OK not to be connected to anything to include the source with and inline fuse.

    Thoughts?

Like the above diagram connect the green wire to an ignition on circuit. Power outlets are usually a good place since they're already fused as you're not pulling a lot of power to energize the relay.

    RowdyRon,
Thanks brother. Looking at your word file, I need to correct my wiring by attaching the green wire to the positive (white) with a 3 Amp fuse. Then attach my red 2 wire to a neighboring switch's light blue illumination wire. Sound about right?

Well that clears up a lot of it. I've added posi-taps to my Amazon cart as well as these add-a-fuse circuits.
I know they come with a 15 AMP fuse so I've added 3 Amp fuses to my cart as well. Anything else?

Which fuse did you tap in your dash fuse box? Is it easy to identify a fuse for ignition source? Sorry for the questions... still learning.

@RowdyRon I can't tell you how much I've learned by just jumping in all the wiring question threads and looking for your posts

@nobenz definitely follow Ron's direction. He's not only accurate but easy to follow because he dumbs down for people like me

The cigarette lighter, but the mentioned fuse taps are much easier. I always forget about those.

@RowdyRon Awesome and thanks again. Yup, the relay already came with a fuse on the hot wire to the battery so got that covered. Appreciate the help!
@Festerw Still appreciate the help! Thanks

What fuses are being utilized? Should I get the ATM mini fuse tap or the ACN low profile?

I used low profile to tap the fuses under the dash, but it really didn't do me any better since the fuse cover would no longer attach.

@RowdyRon So my eyes re getting bad... can you tell me which wire you are referring to as the light blue wire (illumination dash wire)?
3rd or 4th from the left?

HAHA the headache is setting in. Ok, so wired up like discussed. Green going to cig pwr in under dash fuse box with add a tap fuse with 3 amp fuse for green line. Red 1 is connected to relay via trigger wire. Red 2 was tapped into neighboring push button light blue wire. black was connected to black going back to relay/ground.

Issue: The LED on push button is powered even when car is off. Seems to be getting constant power. Pushing the button, turning on headlights do nothing. LED bar still does not turn on.

    Ideas? Suggestions?

Well finished up. Watched a couple youtube vids and they had the exact issue of going from a 3 wire relay to a 4 wire LED push button.
It ended up being green to blue, red 1 to white, black to black and red 2 to fuse tap. Still not completely right as as soon as you turn the car on, the backlight on push button comes on (vs it should come on when you turn headlights or parking lights on). However, pressing the push button does turn the second led in the push button on as well as the LED Bar. Success.

    Quick and final update:
Complete success. Just hours ago I had the push button illuminated at all times when car was on. The issue was I had fuse tapped all the wrong fuses. Once I tapped the fuse labeled "Panel" it corrected the backlit LED on the push button coming on only when the headlights/parking lights were turned on.

For future wiring amateurs. The push button I used was a MICTUNING one and there are youtube videos out there to help with the wiring.

Ok I have a switch like the one above. Its a 4 wire. Green goes to 12v source, red 1 goes to relay, red 2 goes to dash lights and black goes to ground. I used the positive and ground on my 12v accessory plug to wire my green 12v and my black ground wire. Hooked up to relay and turned on. Was working great. After about 35 sec to a min I smelled burning. Took the switch apart and what looks like the 12v power side was burned? Any suggestions?burnt switch.jpg Bad switch or did I goof something up. The only thing I dident do was to fuse the 12v power suppy coming off the accessory plug in the dash. I assumed it was fused but may have been 15amp.

I wired the positive side from my relay which gets fused power from battery. No problems here.

I'm pretty sure I wired it right. The relay is fused. The only thing I didn't do is fuse the 12v power suppy being the hot wire going to the accessory plug with a 3 amp fuse. I'm hoping the switch was just bad.
