I have a noob question, but can someone provide a really good step-by-step pictorial of plasti-dipping the badges? I see a lot of guys leaving on the truck while dipping, and I cannot figure out how they are leaving the dip perfectly on the badges, but not on the paint inside of the letters when that part never seems to be tapped off.

Someone might have good photos to add, but basically the dip will not bridge the gap between the badge and the body, or if it does, it will be thin and easily separate when you pull on it. You can take a toothpick to roll up the edge of the dip on the body panel inside the letter, and once you have enough rolled up to grab with fingers or tweezers if it is a small space, then pull that off - it will not (should not) pull the dip off the badge; should separate at the edge of the badge. Some people run a tooth pick along the edges (between badge and body) between layers to make sure that it is separated.
    I hope that makes sense...

Check the DipYourCar channel on YouTube. It’ll explain how to plastidip your car, emblems, window trim, etc.

When I dipped my badges, I taped 1" away from badges, and got the Sunday paper and covered area for overspray, I did 4-5 light coats, 30 minutes between each coat and let dry as can says to do, I used bamboo skewers to remove from inside letters pry and twist off, I did this mid-late 2016 still holding up

Make sure to spray thick so it peels off easier. I made the mistake that I didn't and now I have a project to redo on the truck. Keep your can warm (in sun or in warm water) so it sprays easier. After each coat, flip can upside down and spray the gunk off the nozzle.

It is on the inside of the letters. I too used a bamboo skewer to get it out like someone said. I’m new to this stuff and I promise you watch 2-3 videos and go at it. The key is to make sure it is on thick enough. If you spray light it won’t come off as easy. Just do it.

I sprayed outdoor with light wind

I’ve plasti dipped a lot of stuff and tried doing my badges on the truck. Came out like shit and I still have residue stuck in the cracks I can’t get out.

I think the key is using a new bottle and making sure the nozzle is cleared out really well.
