hi im new to the toyota fam.. have been looking for a truck for 6 mo. and pulled the trigger last night.. got me a 2005 Tundra TRD limited stepside black with 76000 miles for 14500 very clean will give my wife the credit for finding what i feel was a good deal. my question is i went to the tint and radio shop to day and the guy that owns it came out to look at my truck and his eyes lit up and told me i had found a very rare tundra so is this truck not your normal tundra? any help would be great

    thanks iceman

Not to many around. I had the Tacoma stepside. Nice Tundra, looks like it was well taken care of. There's a few members on here with the stepside that will answer your questions. Welcome from Obx

yep bank account is running low from it..
Limited are from 03 to 06. Mine is a 2003 sr5 but did the conversion to limited minus the leather seats and steering wheel. Mine is on my build page. Are they rare YES. getting more rare as the years go on.

Only thing to watch it timing belt. Make sure you get it changed when the time or mileage is up. The 4.7 (2uz-fe) is a interference engine.

Glad to see other stepsides up here it was getting lonely up here.

Tho I ask Toyota for numbers and never got a response back to how many where made..

Welcome, owned a fist gen tundra for over ten years, super reliable but like said above watch that timing belt, it will be due at 90k miles, it will be prudent to change the water pump at that time as well. If its howling it's time for a new one.
