They don't call themselves bear proof. They met the IGBC criteria for bear resistance with food storage. Kind of important when you live in "big" bear country. Alaska comes to mind. Not an obsession.

I suppose if you do have a warped lid and out of warranty you could place some evenly placed weights on the lid for a period of time to see if it will fix itself and seal properly again...

My gf has an orca. I've always used Coleman coolers! I have to say the ice stays probably twice as long as in my Colemans lol

    Here’s what happened:
Yeti discontiued a “discount pricing program” with the NRA and multiple other organizations and replaced it with a different pricing structure. Meaning, rather than sell a $500 (retail) cooler to the NRA for $150 so they can raffle it off at fundraisers for $85 tickets, yeti essentially raised their pricing to those organizations, to $200. The NRA got butt-hurt and used their monster PR team to verbalize that butt-hurt.

That’s why every mouth-breathing Timbuktard that over reacts to everything they read on Facebook began immediately uploading videos of themselves blowing up their $500 coolers.

    Adorable.

This this right here. I thought people were crazy when they started doing that because they certainly did NOT stop supporting the NRA....but all those people blowing up their coolers and Yeti cups were too dense to look up what the truth was and instead decided to destroy perfectly good products and waste their money. Duh!

I bought a cheap Walmart knock off. Works great. The one time it broke I brought it back and they gave me a new one. Done.

For the yeti fans there's a tab in the check out on the yeti site that says military or first responder discount. It takes you to a site called IDme. You have to register with them and most yeti products are 20% off. Once you register on the IDme site there are a ton of other companies that offer discounts also.

If I wanted one of the RTIC soft sided products, anyone know where i can get the best price or do prices seem to be the same everywhere?? I have not looked into them but my wife mentioned not being happy with the Yeti so wanting to surprise her with the RTIC for upcoming beach trip.

Their own website is pretty good I think. They currently are offering the soft cooler 30can & 40can for the $90-115 range. Definitely worth it. Yeti went back and copied their design for their Gen 2 soft coolers with the flip top. I’ve got the RTIC 30 soft and it’s logged serious beach and boat and park and camp hours. Works as advertised. Easier to access and very durable. Definitely recommend.
