Any crap talking from those boys around the dinner table Ford vs Dodge? Once it gets too deep the old man brings up the Yota. LOL

Lol. My sons are all American boys. They play football, baseball, and hunt every now and then. Lol. However, they have no clue whenever it concerns true costs and overall value added. They like to challenge me and my Tundras once in a while to a trail run or two. So far, my Tundras haven’t left me on the roads. Can’t say the same thing for the other competitors’ products. In fact, my brand spanking new F150 dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree the very first day after I took it home:rofl:I took it back to the dealership and they claimed that it was an improperly installed engine oil cap.

For the first 6 months of ownership, I had to take it back to the dealership approximately once or twice per month for some minor issues. The TPMS, the license plate light, the driver & front passenger windows failure, and 3 recalls were among the many issues I had to deal with during that time.

As for the Ram 1500, I get a headache just thinking of the multiple problems that I had with it the first year. Three times in the first month the truck refused to start. Had to get it towed to the dealership all 3 times. They claimed that the battery was bad and the initial dealer predelivery prep wasn’t done.

Between the Ram and F150 having to go to the dealerships for something, I spent more time at the dealership for both, than I have ever spent for any other vehicles that I have owned in the past 35 years. The only vehicle that topped them both, was my very first car in high school, a 1979 VW Rabbit, diesel!:rofl:I have never owned another VW ever again in my life:rofl:

At the end of the day, it comes down to a matter of choice for each and everyone buying a new vehicle. I don’t get any kickbacks from Toyota, Ford, Dodge, or anyone else. So, I say, go for what you want. As for myself, Toyota it is and will be for me!!

Sounds like your raising those boys right, they sound like good kids. Glad the Tundra is treating you right! My 17 year old just purchased a 2001 1st gen TRD 4x4 Tacoma - he has been working part time as well ever since he turned 16 and saving up. He's really enjoying it, mods are endless for it and the first gens are mostly bombproof, it has 190k miles on it. LOL

Thanks. I have four boys. These are my last two. They are goods boys.

Your son is definitely the model kid. Working hard honest job for something that he wanted is the ideal way for a kid to get going in life.

I had a 2002 Tundra 4x4 TRD, 1st gen. I bought it brand new and loved it. That’s what started my love for Tundras. That and seeing the way them terrorists used their Toyota trucks to out perform our Bradleys and M1 tanks over in Afghanistan and Iraq. Lol

My personal experiences on the subject have made me not wanting another 2wd truck unless I lived in the south like Florida or Southern Cali for example. My first truck was a 2wd small V8 Ram 1500 rclb. Now at the time I was still living with family in Connecticut and even driving carefully I ended up getting stuck on snow covered secondary roads, my best friend's dirt driveway with a decent grade etc. I live in Kansas City now and the snow is still deep enough to warrant it. (except for this past winter) I also plan to tow our future Jeep off road vehicle to the off road park and there are times you need 4x4 as well since the parking area is not paved with the trailer attached. When we drive to Connecticut each year for the holidays for a week or two 4x4 is also nice to have for the lake affect or hill/mountain snow traveling 80 in Ohio - Penn state area. The plows eventually plow I-80 but it is like 4 inches deep it seems every time we drive through the area lol.
If you don't need it then you do not need but after the experiences I had with my first 2wd truck I really do not want one again where I live or where I go.

I live in South Florida and I still do need a 4x4. We have been getting pounded by heavy tropical rain fall for almost two months now and my 4x4 gets me through the roughest of terrain. Even had to pull a couple neighbors’ 4x2 out of trenches and swales.
