More "Big Brother" monitoring. The truck monitors your driving patterns (Baselines) and figures out what is your normal. Then if it starts seeing oddities, such as rapid steering corrections, etc, it will chime or alert you.

Huh, i thought this only came on with the F150's...
I wonder if this is being used by all of the manufacturers?

Vehicle Sway Warning System. If it sees that you are swaying in your lane, as if you’re nodding off, it will give an audible alert and a coffee cup icon will appear on your display screen, suggesting you take a coffee break.

This happens on the wife's Highlander as well. She thought it was funny.
I would find it annoying; more crap to look at on the screen and take your eyes of the road.

Most find it annoying, until it actually saves you from an accident or drifting off the road.

I have never had it beep at me. Something superfluous running in the background is all. . . unless you actually need it

As a big fan of coffee, the few times I've toggled through and seen the icon, all I could think about was getting some coffee. But at least now I know what it does for real.

Since we’re discussing warnings my PCA warning came up and says it’s off. I’ll have to take a pic but when I go to the setting it says it’s on? Anyone have similar warning. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. But I levelled my truck 3" in the front and 2 in the back so I assumed it is from doing this

When I bought my truck and saw this on my display. I was looking for the expresso. Machine built into the dash somewhere. I am still searching

Get your dealership to reprogram this to say, “Time for beer”, at 5:00pm every afternoon. That’s what I did.

I drove for 520 miles non stop and it never did anything. So I assume it doesn't do anything.

Until today I thought this thing was just a timer but now am sure it does react based on how it perceives your driving.

On my daily commute there about a half mile stretch that involves me coming off one on ramp, crossing another and then taking another ramp. Though all that it curves right to left a couple times too. Its one of those situations where no one is actually staying in the lines (single lane) so the lane departure nanny regularly goes off too.

About 6 months ago I have an alert go off where the dash told me I needed to take a rest. Figured it was a fluke since I drive this stretch everyday and my entire commute is only 15 minutes. Today it went off in the exact same spot. I don't feel any of this manuver is unsafe (or out of the ordinary) but I could see how a computer could interpret the swerving and not being in the lines that way.

Now I really wonder what the algorithm is considering to determine if I'm tired.

Dang ominous wording for a information warning. It's too close to "Time to Eternal Rest", like the truck knows something you don't.

Toyota needs to work on their operator friendliness.

So, if you're speeding, does it say "Time to Arrest"?

The display should rather show a driver with both hands on the wheel as a reminder to stop scrolling through your pointless Facebook feed. That's probably 10 to 1 the cause of swerving drivers versus falling asleep
