    Hi guys,

I'm getting very close to having a local shop put in a new system. We've gone over what will be done and how much...and he sent me the exact list of components he will be using. We will be bypassing the factory JBL. His equipment of choice is Memphis Audio. Some researching looks to be good equipment.

The front door speakers he wants to use are these: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_95315MC69/Memphis-Audio-15-MCX69.html

The tweeter can detach or stay connected to the speaker itself and the crossover can be attached to the speaker too.

Currently, the tweeter is in the door sail. I've read on other audio forums that the kick plate is a great location for tweeters too. I have zero experience having the tweeter connected to the speaker in the same location as the link above shows. Obviously, makes the install a bit easier. Anyone have experience with placing the tweeter in the same location? My installer tells me it will sound great.

    thanks,

I've read that for the best "sound image" you are better having the tweeter down by the mid and pointing up towards the middle of the two front headrests.

I have my tweeters in the sail panels and they sound great (i didn't test them next to my mids), its really up to your ear.

Maybe when he is doing the doors, you could swing by and have him test both locations with you in the drivers seat, and see what sounds best.

I have tweeters in the sail panels and think that is best spot. I think most will say to put the tweeters in that area.
