New truck has 265/55/20 tires on it. According to what I've read they'll do the trick for towing my TT. My hesitation comes from almost always having a truck with max 18" wheels, the sidewall height makes me scratch my head. I do see lots of trucks on 20s towing just fine. Am I just being old?

I have only had a few experiences towing with 20’s.

Ford has the 275/60/20 and has a walloping load index 126 rating on the F250. (That’s 3750 lbs)

I swapped out to 20’s from a 3/4 ton Denali to my 1 ton. Ride was stiffer, towed nice, and I couldn’t get a tire shop to touch my truck with a load index rating of 121 since my OEM rating is 124. So I was stuck. Sold the 20’s and went back to 18’s.

I wouldn’t worry about towing with 20’s, you should have no issues.

The Limited's and Platinum's come with 20" wheels standard so I'm not sure what the issue would be?

My '11 Platinum had them and I towed my Z06 and boat around no problem.
