Our needs have changed and tomorrow I will trade in my Tundra on a brand spanking new 4Runner Limited in Nautical Blue. It has been a pleasure being a member of this forum and although I will join a 4Runner forum I will still visit here.

I learned a lot here from senior/seasoned members and appreciate all the help I received.

Why the change? You can fit the same amount of people in both, but Tundra has more cargo room. So is it a reduction in debt/monthly payment?

Sorry you gotta let go of the truck, bud.

Good luck. I think that the 4Runner is the most solid all-around platform that Toyota makes. We currently have a 2016, and we had a 2005. Great vehicles.

Plus it still has the 4.0 and it's made in Japan. Last trip to the dealership for one of my free oil changes the wife and I thought we'd look at a TRD OR 4R as maybe we don't need the big Tundra (no kids). She immediately looked at me and said too small, maybe for a secondary vehicle but not to replace the truck. Good luck they are very nice rides.

The change is so my wife can drive it too (she feels uncomfortable driving the Tundra on trips) and in the interest of financial disclosure......it is not the payments or reduction of debt (I don't own that much on it) as we do quite alright. You know your second question almost rubbed me wrong.

I think he was just saying many go for something cheaper as it frees more money up and makes more sense for the family. When my wife’s Highlander lease was up, she had a crush on the 2018 Camry. Our payment went down quite a bit, double the gas mileage, cheaper insurance, sexy car, and it was brand new. So why not, right?
My wife can’t park for shit. Let alone in a Tundra lol. The Camry is easy to park...well for some. She seems to do alright with it, so far.

    Congrats!

What does the limited have over the off road edition besides leather? I know it’s full time 4wd but does it have rear locker? Low range? Keyless entry/start?

My wife I went to dealership the other day just to look around. Black TRD Sports looked pretty awesome. Wife looked at 4R and told me that's what she wants after all the kids leave the nest. Cool vehicle, for sure.

Post some pictures of your new ride when you get a chance.

Not sure why it would “almost” rub you the wrong way. Just asking to better understand why the change. Simple conversation. Sorry if I offended you.

I agree. I sold my Tundra for financial reasons. We do very well for ourselves too - it's not that we cant afford the Tundra, or a Tesla for that matter.. it's that we would rather put that money somewhere else right now. My Tundra was almost paid off when I sold it. I bought a car and used the other money to pay off some medical bills and a few other things. Used some of it to buy stuff for my 4runner.. nothing wrong with selling to be in a better financial situation - even if your financial situation is already good.
