We decided to do a longer trip with the Tundra, to see how the towing went on the highway and two lane roads to the coast. The Tundra was great, very comfortable, and wife was even smiling after driving all day. We camped out in our Aliner for 3 nights only at Honeyman State Park. We traveled to Newport to the Aquarium one day and another to the Heceta Lighthouse.

Tundra averaged between 15 and 16 mpg while towing. No problems to report. 02639EEC-A182-44B4-B531-ABA595017590.jpgD011ABCC-773E-48F9-BD5C-83E05AA1FB79.jpg 2F2E890D-302F-43AA-A1FD-A415F1D57EB4.jpgA17FF3AA-200F-48F2-A5BA-3572F210B378.jpg 61A7B282-6B9E-47F3-B437-0BA431052055.jpg38FB2ECB-A457-4A1E-9CD4-4A147C6A0B3F.jpg

Honeyman State Park is nice. I first went there on a field trip in the 6th grade 1966! Been there numerous times. Went to the old Newport Aquarium not long after that on another field trip. So many activities this time of year. The whole Oregon coast is nice to check out. Would be nice if you keep heading north to Lincoln City and Tillamook.......best cheese...period...and up to Astoria!

We used to tent camp and rent cabins along the coast when the kids were young, 25 years ago. We’ve done the OR coast but I feel the most amazing section is between Walport and Florence. We should have stayed longer....

That’s a sweet little camper you got there! I like that it’s not soft sides where it pops up. Does it have AC? That’s the one request my wife wants. Also I do to too LOL. I’m sure you didn’t need it in Oregon.

Sea Lions Caves and Devils Elbow State Park. Both smack dab in between Waldport and Florence.

They do have a AC option and/or heat pump option. I only have the heater option, which works great. AC may be a near future option esp if I go east...

The Classic has a lot of windows that are screened and a “Fantastic” fan for cooling.

The hard sides are what sold me, they dry out quick. I also like the fact it fits into my garage so it is protected fro. The critters and weather in the winter. The Tundra has outside duty. Hard sides also are necessary in some campgrounds as Yellowstone, due to bears. Nice not to be sleeping on the ground or in the back of pickup truck. After 65 one gets soft, lol.

I ultimately want a toy hauler. We’ve been talking about a pop up to at least get us in the game. It just feels so limited on safety and places I can take it though. I’m sure yours is not cheap but it is a great alternative to a pop up tent trailer. And I hadn’t thought about it but I would love to be able to slide it in my garage. That would keep the driveway clear. Anyways thanks for the insight!

I absolutely love going to the aquarium with my grandchildren! So much to see. They really enjoyed the hands on tidal pool.
That mileage is really nice. My wife and I agree, the Tundra is a joy and comfort to ride and drive.

Nice trip! You’re averaging more MPGs towing than I do on a normal basis!

I like that trailer as well, good call. Cape Blanco is pretty neat too, furthest point West, the lighthouse is cool to tour too. You can stay in a Yurt if you don't have a tent or trailer.
