    These are a coil-over setup, so I'm not sure if that's the right question but...for me it comes down to this: when I can leave my truck on blocks for a couple weeks while I get the Kings/Icons/ADS rebuilt, and I have the need for the increased performance that comes with these, I would likely make the switch and welcome the increased cost. But the 6112/5160 are a 2.5/reservoir setup that is pretty strong for the price, and is more or less plug and play.

    YA.....I had some 6112's ordered from 4wheel parts initially....I had 6112 on my last Tundra and loved them......8 days after my order....crickets...no email or phone call, but they certainly ran my credit card. So I called to inquire why they hadn't shipped them. Low and behold they were on back order and ETA was 30-60 days!!!! They didn't even bother to email me!!! :frusty:Guess they thought they could hold onto my 585$:quickdraw: for 1-2 months while keeping me in the dark...... So I cancelled my order immediately and got my money back..... F**K 4 Wheel parts!!!---- :infantry:corporate whores
    -------I CALLED @Toytec Lifts and ordered OME fronts with 612 coils and add a leaf for the rear with OME Nitro's.......installing at the end of the month...... Toytec Customer service was SUPERIOR and the set up was less expensive for the fronts

    I'll do a write up after I get some drive time on the set up. You can see the pricing for all parts I listed on Toyteclifts.com:thumbsup:

    Got a set of unassembled 6112's. Would like to have them assembled before I tear apart my front end. Would the top hat's be the only part I would need from the dealership to get these assembled.

    Yes. I got a pair of KYB top hat assemblies (top hats, rubber parts, etc) from Napa. Something like $35 each. This is all the parts you’ll need to build the 6112s and keep the 4600s intact for a 1:1 swap.

    Well, top hat's should be here tomorrow. Thinking I may go ahead and assemble the coil overs myself. Not that difficult if done correctly. Have all the shocks and SPC UCA's sitting on the shelf. Have a diff drop kit if needed. Since Im not working right now will have a couple days to get it all put together. Only thing that might be a issue is getting the front end aligned. Alignment shop is about 20 miles from the house and hope I can get it close enough to be drivable

    Mark the alignment cams with a sharpie or the like. When you get it back together if they don't line up, the bolt in the back of each cam turns the marks so you can line them back up. It will get you at least close enough to drive to an alignment place. I wouldn't worry too much about that.

    Like @TundraRunner481 said, just get it back to what it was. It will just ride the outer edges a little bit more than usual, but is otherwise fine to drive on. I did what he said, just marked the adjustment cams on the LCAs and put them back in the same spot.

    Well, top hats came in but no hardware with the kit. Just got back from Toyota dealer to order the bushing's and washers for the top of the strut. Always something. And of course, rain and thunderstorms all Sunday, the day I was planning the install of shocks and SPC UCA's so I could get it aligned Monday morning.

    My Old Man Emu suspension is INSTALLED!!!:mudding:As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I have had the Bilstein 6112's on my prior Tundra!! I now have OME all the way around with the 612 coil option up front. So now I can be the first to do a head to head review of the two systems. I will tell you all up front, right now that I would save a little coin and get the OME set up over the Bilstein! That's all for now! Pictures and review to come!:burnrubber: @matluth

    Yes! SPC's...... and YES you should fork the money out for them..... I teetered on whether or not to buy them for 6 months because of the expense..... THEY MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE and I believe they are crucial to maximize control on the road.

    Well I'm looking fwd to this review:popcorn:
    What are you gonna compare? Old Man Emu is a full kit with springs and shackles. I imagine it would be somewhat superior to just 6112's and 5100's, or oem shocks. :stirthepot:

    I ran 6112's on my 2007. This is how it sat after install. Top setting. I was running a +3 Coachbuilder shackle in the rear which made things set a touch higher in the rear. Somewhere I have my measurements before/after. Tires are 275/65/20 on OEM Limited wheelset.

    Just when I thought I had shit figured out, I read this conversation and realize the following;

    1. I now have no idea what to do and back to square one;
    2. I know nothing about shackles/blocks/coil overs/etc;
    3. I still have no idea whats best to do to my Tundra!
    4. FML.
    5. I just want this thing leveled and slightly bigger tire (aggressive looking but not over the top). Probably going to powder coat the TRD rims. 99% street driving....
    6. MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY! Help a brotha/rookie out!

    Hey man, I owe you a cold one if ever thats possible. Thanks for taking the time to write all that. 100% makes sense. You and another guy i have been PM’ing have helped me narrow my choices.

    The only other option I am looking at is the Toyolift level kit (their most popular one) thats $300ish and then beefing up the rear shocks. Thanks again!

    I called Boss 4x4s back in early May. He told me then that the best estimate was sometime in June. He put me on a notification list. He sent an email around the 4th of June saying they expected to receive them the third week in June and to ship between 27 and 30 June, and asked if I would like to pre-order. I did and paid him in full. They set them up on Saturday, 29 June, shipped Monday 2 July. They still have them in stock.

    @Slp82 is spot on. Get the 6112s assembled one clip from the top, 1.9in of lift. Install then, get alignment, be done. You will have a great ride, can fit bigger tires, and aren't messing with the Upper Control Arms or the rear. I have been driving like this for a while now and its perfect.

    http://www.boss4x4s.com/bilstein_6112_series_lift_kit_assembled_2007tundra

    If you decide to get wild down the road, you can always "shim" the front to add half an inch, then lift the rear an inch with shackles.

    None to day....that’s why I’m here.
    This is great information guys!

    Along this same train of thought I would love some input. I run a lot of miles for work (30-35k annually) and also tow a trailer or have 800-900 lbs of concrete in the bed often.

    Would it be crazy to run the 6112’s at the 1.3” level with 285/65R18 Cooper Stt pros on stock rims? I wanted that specific tire because it’s a little oversized 11.8x32.9?

    I don’t mind removing mud flaps and bending ears on skid plates but don’t want to use wheel spaces. The thought about the 1.3” setting is that I’d be level when towing or the bed is loaded. Also I’m in and out of parking garages a lot and some are low as it is.

    Any input is appreciated!
